I have been attending Calvary Chapel for about 4 years. I go to CC Pahrump Valley (I also helped create our website hehe) and have been to several different CC's in California and Las Vegas.

My brother is going to the Bible College in Murrieta this fall. It's awesome..I love it there. (The food is good.)

I love it there too (I lived there for quite a while), but to call the food good is truly a stretch.

What are you talking about?! Lance is great. Though retreaters generally get slightly better food than the students, it still is pretty dang good.

My good friend and her husband met there (haha another statistic) and she still works there in the Radio Station office.

jeska, what CC's have you been to?

Slightly better?? Yes, Lance is absolutely great. The problem is not the chef. The problem is that when you are mass producing food, as they do, it will not be nearly as good ever. And it is not. Even Mark Schwartz called one of the most often made dishes "pasta death".

I stayed over the summer. THAT was good food. Many less people to cook for=much higher quality.

Ehhh....i thought that the student fare was pretty good and comparative to the retreaters food. Ahh well....he does the best he can i guess. I still think it is better than alot of other cafes.

Rach, Lance does not cook for the students except on rare occasion. The students do the cooking. And yes, it can be better than a lot of places, but it can also be a heck of a lot worse.

I love Calvary Chapel so much. My parents went to Calvary Chapel North Phoenix when I was a baby, then we began going to Calvary Chapel Central Phoenix when John Brown started it. Seriously, it's like one big family, I'm so blessed by the fellowship and many people's closeness with Christ there. Ahhh, two more years and I can go to the Bible College in Murrieta.

I have been to (in Vegas): CC Lone Mountain and CC Spring Valley. In California I have been to CC Costa Mesa and..geez I don't remember the other one. I have also been to CC Colorado Springs, CC Alb., and the CC in Nicaragua.

Don Blad is the chaplain of our CMA (Christian Motorcyclist's Assoc) chapter and pastor of Calvary Chapel Chestertown in Maryland. It's a very small church out in the country.

They eat as much as any Baptist congregation I've ever seen, and are sometimes referred to as 'Calorie Chapel.'

I finally visited one (Calvary Chapel Oakland County), and I must say I really felt good about it. I only attended the youth group, but the atmosphere was relaxed. We had a "candle-lit" worship service, with only an acoustic guitar, no mics or amps. It was really cool, and especially simple.

I'm planning on visiting the youth group a few times before going to a regular service (I'm boycotting my church's "40 Days of Purpose" garbage starting in a few weeks). I've been watching sermons online, from the CC Costa Mesa website. Interesting. Very casual, but not fluffy at all. Simple, heartfelt worship. I like it.

If anyone goes to, or has been to, CC Oakland County, PM me or email me at Epaphras@hotmail.com.
