Oh, and it's "germ an"... | It's nothing like pit. It's more like a combination of monopoly and risk. |

| I got Settlers for Christmas, plus all the main and 5-6 player expansions. I'm probably going to order the German-issued "Das Buch" expansion as well, for a few of the cool parts that I might use in the game from time to time.
Played a full game of Settlers + Seafarers + Cities & Knights a week ago with my two brothers and my girlfriend; it only took us about 3 hours.... hehehehehehehehehehe. It was great.

| We have the Settlers/Seafarers/Cities&Knights of Catan + the 5-6 player expansion kits for each. It makes for epic games. We've invented our own maps as well. It's great. |

| It's kind of like Age of Empires without the fighting. You play on a game board that is set up differently for every game and try to expand your colony to be the largest on the island. Every player is involved in every turn. The game depends a lot on dice rolls, but also has a great deal of strategy to it. Evenly trade your resources with other players or extort them for a lot so they can get that rare resource that you have. Great game with several expansion packs.

| Check out these sites to play free versions of the game. I recommend the first one, but the second you don't have to download and install. http://www.s3dconnector.net/ http://www.jsetters.com/

| My cousin introduced me to the game. I love it! But like any game I love (like Risk), it is hard to find enough time or people to play alot.
