a mp3 of me and a friend singing... any suggestions?

recorded this yesterday on my computer... didn't turn out bad, all i used was a acoustic guitar pickup, a small preamp for the bass and electric, and a 5 dollar computer mic for drums and vocals. And i mixed it all in Cool Edit Pro.

Anyways, what do y'all think of the vocals? They turned out a bit rough, but I was just curious what y'all thought...

the address to download the mp3 is:
http://members.home.com/wannabeguitarist
once you get there.. right click on "barelybreathing.mp3" and click save as.

Thanks alot guys..

I didn't have any problem getting it at the original one. The playing of all the instruments in the song was great from what I could hear. The singing was decent, but BREATHE! It didn't have any emotion in it at all, almost like you (or whoever was singing) were mumbling out the words. If you put more into it and breathe the pitch control will be much better than what I heard. You can't hit the right notes without enough air and that's what I was hearing. But, to leave it on a positive...as I said before, the playing was great.

good advice brent... i think you're right. I wish we'd done 2nd takes on the vocals but didnt have time. Auctally its two people singing, i sang first verse and the bridge and chorus... the rest was my friend.

I probably didn't get that far...I know the song, but I got burnt out on it b/c of the local top 40 station playing it over and over, so I didn't listen too far. Just long enough to make my observations.

hey
i finally got it to downlaod.. though not the whole thing.. but enough to hear most of it. i liked it... the playing was really great and you guys seemed togehter. the only thing is what was said about the emotion. try getting into the person that is singing... like, my voice teacher always had me write out a story abotu the person singing.. all the way down to the name, age, why's and everything.. then just sorta get into what the song is saying... i dunno if any of this made sence... but yea.... thats what i had to do. though, i've been guilty of not doing that lately.. and it shows. anywho... great job!! keep it up and post some more!! i enjoyed it! (great voice too btw!

God bless!

The playing was great, but as everyone else has said have a little more emotion feel what you sing don't just sing it. That and PLEASE dont sing through your nose!!!!! The worst thing you can do is breath shallow, you could totally mess up your vocal chords like that so be careful and try to take deeper breaths!
