| Alaska Bass Players? Any bass players in Anchorage, who wants to jam? I am currently in a christian rock band, who has just recently finished cutting a CD. We are currently looking for a bass player that loves to rock. Anyway, anyone out there? |

| um, i'm out here, WAY out here. in the valley. yeah, i play bass (and guitar).
i don't think that would work, though. i don't usually come into anchorage (and i doubt you'd want to lug everything to come out here and just jam)
:kwink:
yeah, i'm not exactly that great of a bass player, either...:kgrin: so if you guys already put together a cd...
i'm sure being optimistic *smack*
actually, it probably could work out, i'm just shy of meeting people i've only sent messages to on the 'net
heh, i'm shy period... |

| Let's Jam ak-man Dude, I actually live out here in the valley, right off of trunk road. As far as you being shy, join the club me too. I kind of figured that finding a bass player in Anchorage, would have been easier than looking in the valley. Anyway let's get together and jam. I'm sure you would fit in no problem. |

Peace.

| Band Name and MP3s The band name is Ghost Cafe. Our music style is Christian Alternative/Rock. We haven't lined up any recent gigs, for the fact that we are looking for a bass player. Anyway as soon as we find one we will resume gigging. If you wan't, I can email you some MP3s so you can hear our sound. Let me know

| Do people call you Tony?
What church do you go to up there, and if you like you can upload some samples of your band right here (as long as they are under 1 meg)...that way we'd all be blessed.
Peace.

| most of the practice i've had w/ bass has been in my church's youth group (wasilla bible church). it's fun, but all i've learned is the basics (notes are no problem, though):kwink:
yeah, an mp3 would be nice.:kcool:
what church do you go to? and how many people are in your band?......
um, hmmm. too many questions, could you just give like some background info on yourself and the band? |

| Info Sorry about that, I guess a little info would be nice. I attend Wasilla Assembly Of God. We had a full four piece band until recently. The drummer moved to Seattle, and our bassist had to quit because of his work schedule. So now it's just me the lead vocalist, and Daryl the guitarist. Daryl attends Grace Community Church in Anchorage. We meet and practice right hear in my home. I have this pretty big room I converted into Ghost Cafe central. The reason why we are recruiting a bass player over a drummer for now, is because we have a pretty good drum machine, so basically all we need now is a bass player so we can have some realistic practices. Daryl and I Love the Lord, and we always try to be creative in our writing to reflect our christian walk, trials we go through etc. Anyway what kind of music do you listen to? By the way my name is Terrance, Anthony is my middle name. I was told I can add some mp3s to the site but I didn't see an upload link or anything.Recently we have had some gig offers, but obviously we could not accept them. As far as our music goes Daryl and I have been writing and singing together for over five years so we have some really good and tight songs. I really think you would like our style. I'll try to upload some songs on the site. If I can't, then maybe I can just get you a copy of our album.

| no problem 'bout the info, i always forget something like that (really bugs me, i'll leave out the ONE thing that's vitally important)
hi, my name's benaiah. i'm a senior (hs), so it sounds like you guys are older than me. been playing bass about...um...2 months. been playing guitar for about 3 years, so bass was no problem to pick up...:ksmile:
haha, what kind of music do i like? lol, just about any. i'm listening to newsboys right now, skillet's good, switchfoot, tree63, everyday sunday, audio adrenaline, (foreign), etc... basically anything like those i like. country's good too usually(unless it's one of those guys who can sing louder than a woman and twangier than his banjo), i love the old hyms like come thou fount or be thou my vision- they have awesome lyrics (sometimes it'd be fun to update the style, though). rap- not often
yeah, music's my passion
well...actually, i think i could survive w/o it. not w/o God, though. (my Bible is currently at a friend's house, so i'm getting kinda...er...hungry. need food, need Jesus)
haha, "This is my body..."
wow, i never saw it like that before...cool!
ahem, anyways...
er...(lost my train of thought)...
hmmm, i think i'm done... |

| songs Okay, I am having some trouble adding my mp3 attachment. I will try again, every time I add my attachment, I don't see a link at all. Anyway Benaiah, I like a few of the same bands you like Audio Adrenaline and Newsboys. I also like Fold Zandura, Jars Of Clay Terry Scott Taylor, POD, Creed. Hey I spoke to Daryl,(guitarist) about all of us getting together and jamming, well what do you think? We promise we'll be gentle (heh heh). Well, let me know what you think. Sorry about the delay in responding, but my internet service was down until like now. Anyway we were hoping to jam later this week, too soon for ya?
well let me know

| Terrance, you could go to mp3.com and set up a site. You could then upload your songs there.
Peace.

| ok, sorry i'm responding kinda late, terrance (um...yeah. a week's sorta late). i'm trying to stay off the computer as much as possible... sometimes it doesn't work out very well (stupid college english class...grrrrrrr )
anyways, 'bout jammin', i'd have to think about that. yeah...partly it's because i don't know you guys (many internet horror stories come to mind, and i'm a little paranoid )
no offense...
i would like to jam. that'd be fun. here's my email- somewhereinak@hotmail.com
probably need to give me a early warning :kgrin: i need time to think about this stuff, plan, etc.
anyways, thanks. don't let me get you down...:ksmile: |

| Maybe you guys could meet at an X-Nihlo concert or something. BTW, are those guys any good?
Anyway...meet first, jam later. I'm pretty sure that anthony isn't a 300 lb, 36 year old, bald teenage-male infatuated cyber-stalker.

*ahem*
sorry (insert trying-not-to-smile smiley here)
the band sounds cool. the voices were a little...distant...on the mp3, though. is that what you're shooting for? or was that just the recorder? (doesn't matter, it still sounded cool) :ksmile:
'fraid tues won't work. my youth group is then, and they tend to borrow my bass amp anyways
(aurgh, stink! i have a meeting to get to that day. thanks for reminding me )
grrrrrr, i hate days planned to the minute |
