Arlington Road

anyone else love this movie? I love Robbins and Bridges in it. The thing that makes this movie great is the ending IMO. It's the exact opposite of what you'd expect. I really don't want to give it away, but definatly go rent this movie. Any other fans?

Yeah, I got this movie on DVD right when it came out. My wife doesn't like the ending because...

SPOILER

it's not a happy ending, but I told her that if it was a happy ending, it wouldn't have been logical based on the other parts of the movie.

Well acted, well directed, and well written. Something I wish every movie consisted of.

Everyone that I was with liked the movie until the end, which they hated. I, on the other hand, loved it. I think that this was a primary stone in my path to loving good movies, instead of just funny movies. I thought that the end was brilliant! There aren't too many movies that can get the kind of reaction that I saw out of people.

It was good, even though Jeff Bridges gets annoying(at least to me). Hated the ending as well.

I liked it and I liked the ending.

It seems to me that this is another movie where the audience splits. They either love the ending or hate it. From the reviews I've read, most people that didn't like it thought the ending was way too contrived and unbelievable. I guesse that is understandable. I guesse its all perspective. In context of the film, the ending worked very well for me

I only hated the ending because it was sad and the bad guys won. They wern't even cool bad guys. It's not that I only like happy endings, it's that there was the whole mystery(to everyone in the Arlington Road world) and he was blamed for what happened. While it was a great plot/twist/story/thing, I got frustrated at the results.

No other ending would have fit the purpose of the film though. It was making a point. The bad guys weren't suppose to be cool. The view was suppose to feel screwed by the bad guys. The ending seemed perfect for the film. Though, I can see how someone might think the execution was poor.

i thought the execution was flawless. The ending was perfect in every way. I mean, what would you have done to improve it?

A plethora of people say the ending and thought it was completely unbelievable. Complete and totally contrived. The sort of thing that only happens in poorly executed movies and it felt that way.

....I dont think that, but a lot of people do. I can see what they are saying, but I just don't agree and didn't feel that way.
