Hey All,
The new Supertones CD has to be my favorite one they have done so far. Since I've been listening to it I have been wondering: (being as I have never played with guitar effects before) how do you get the sound like they have on the 3rd song's bridge (Welcome Home) and on the opening to the 14th song (Forever)? It's somethign I have heard elsewhere, but I have been motovated to ask now, and they were a good example.
I know this is a "how to" type of question, but I have a feeling that the folks who frequent the "effects" forum will have a better chance of answering this question, so I'm going to move the thread over there.
Right off the top of my head, I would have to say that those are both wah pedal effects... I can't remember for sure... I'll have to take a quick listen and make sure...
But I think both of those effects are just wah pedal stuff.
I love that CD too. I am not exactly sure what you mean by slight and heavy wah, i would say that it was slight on forever and heavier on welcome home.
I was just curious how they made the sound. Having never plugged my eletric into any effects boxes (which will SOON be remedied) I don't know if that sound is heavy on the wah effect, or light on the wah effect.
Just looking for some hints on how to get that sound. Most likely I'll be using a Boss AW-2 for the wah sound.

I would not get an auto wah if i were you. Check out the Dunlop Crybaby. It is THE wah pedal. It is probobly cheaper then the boss too. A real wah is a pedal that is sort of shaped like a gas pedal in a car. You step down hard on the toe end of it to turn it on the rock it back and forth to get the effect. You can also turn it on and leave the rocker in a certain place to get a dieefernt sound.
