| The ending was a little contrived but I liked how M. Night attempted to piece it all together. Mel Gibson's acting in that movie is somewhat of an acquired taste: it certainly wasn't the best, and I wasn't completely into it, but I found it to be believable enough.
At least the movie is well-made. What if it was as bad as all the horror/thriller tripe coming out nowadays?
In my top ten lists for movies I don't really base it on artistic merit alone, but how much I enjoyed it. There are exceptions to my list: I enjoyed Fantastic Four and its sequel, but seriously...those movies sucked.
Fantasy:
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
The Princess Bride
Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe
I would put Star Wars up here...but for some reason I wont, just to annoy the nuts.
Smarter-than-You Action Movies:
Equilibrium (The Matrix was too cheesy, but I found this to be an interesting character study)
The Bourne Ultimatum
National Treasure
Casino Royale
Big Dumb Action Movies:
Sahara
The Rock
Live Free or Die Hard (way too implausible but I enjoyed it for what it was)
Superhero movies:
Batman Begins
Spider-Man 1-2
Comedies:
Nacho Libre
Man of the Year
Rocketman
I know I'm going to get burned for this but....Wild Hogs
Drama:
A Beautiful Mind (overly-sentimental at times, but excellently acted film)
Romance:
Sucks
