Wow.

I haven't seen a new film this good in a while.

I don't know if many will have heard of it, but find out about it, and see it as soon as possible.

Basically, it tells the story of one boy who grows up in a Brazilian slum, and the characters who live around him.

The directing is fabulous, building tension all over the place, highlighting the important story repetitions excellently.

I won't tell too much, but if any of you trust my taste, see this as soon as possible.

Is this on DVD yet? It was #2 on Roger Ebert's 2002 film list (ahead of "Adaptation" and behind "Minority Report").

Normally I think I'm pretty "down" when it comes to movies, but I've rarely heard of the movies that you mention.

I know they're independant films, but I wish more of them would come to Austin. The main independent film theater closed about a year ago. The last film I saw there was The Royal Tenenbaums, before it got a wide release.

I need to get a job at one of the non-corporate video stores around town. The kind that are about movies not money. They I could "down" again.

I'm actually blessed this way. Because Glasgow (where I go to watch films because I've got an unlimited ticket for the biggest cinema I've ever seen) has three universities, indie films do an astoundingly good trade.

I seen trailers for at least 3 Cannes Film Festival big noises, which is good.

I'd have to go to Toronto to see indies. There are a lot of great movies that I miss because nobody in town plays them.

I saw this film again yesterday. Just amazing. This is truly one of the greatest films you'll ever see.

I've been wanting to see this for a while, but can't get it out because you need to be 18. It's on the foreign channel on TV tonight. It will be censored, but I'm not sure how much. Australia generally doesn't censor swearing, but they might censor some other stuff. Is it worth watching a somewhat censored version or waiting until I can see the real thing?

I decided not to watch the TV version, yeah. I got home a bit too late to watch it, plus when I turned it on there was some pretty nasty stuff happening. So yeah, I thought watching the real version would be best.
