Check out what BARNES & NOBLE says about STEVEN CURTIS CHAPMAN’S highly anticipated upcoming release, ALL ABOUT LOVE coming January 28th!!
From
Barnesandnoble.com:
There's an unwritten rule about love songs in Christian music, which is that they should address the Divine only. But Christian music's most successful (and influential) artists have been able to chip away at that restriction, and perennial Dove Award winner Steven Curtis Chapman has written some of the most eloquent love songs the genre has known. Still, Chapman's 13th studio release is something of a landmark because it's entirely about love relationships -- the earthly kind. Just in time for Valentine's Day, All About Love neatly debunks the notion that Christian artists can't (or shouldn't) address the romantic.
Chapman dedicates the album to his wife of 18 years, Mary Beth (who is also the executive producer), which should please naysayers -- as should Chapman's spiritual focus throughout. But the proof is in the music. This is an outstanding collection that is both musically rich and lyrically eloquent. "How Do I Love Her," "We Will Dance," and "Echoes of Eden" beautifully convey Chapman's message that "we love God best when we love each other well." Love contains two covers: The Proclaimers' "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" and Ronnie Milsap's "I'll Take Care of You," the latter superbly performed. Chapman's own 1993 hit "I Will Be Here," now a wedding standard, is remade as a tender, piano-based composition that surpasses the original. Also included is "When Love Takes You In," from Chapman's 2001 Declaration release. For anyone in love, or wanting to find love, Chapman has provided the perfect spiritual soundtrack -- and opened a few doors in the process. - Lisa Zhito
