personally, after playing many taylors, as well as martins, larrivees, collings, and many many many custom made acoustics over the past couple months, i think taylors a little too overrated on these boards.

I'm not saying they're no good, just overrated.
yes they're consistant, but consistency doesn't mean spectacular sound.

If people think Taylors are the 'holy grail' of guitars, they really gotta go to a real boutique type guitar store and see whats really out there.

There are plenty of guitars that will give a bigger bang for the buck, be cheeper, sound and play better than a taylor (no matter what the model)

my taylor koa is alive. its venetian cutaway has a prettier curve than i have seen in all my calculus days. the preamp rocks. and the fretboard and neck are perfect for MY hand. i like taylors. but it is all personal opinion. i dunno if buck for buck, guitars are about equal. and remember, there are plenty of guitars that cost more than taylors...froggy bottom, etc.

Those Taylor Koas are beautiful guitars.
