| Best Director Who do you think is the best modern director? Meaning best director to come out in like the past 10 years. |

| For pure directorial skill, it's easily Paul Thomas Anderson. M. Night comes in second. |

| The Wachowski brothers. Sure, they've only done one movie...but it has revolutionized the look of movies and Monday Night Football...at least until their next two movies come out. |

| Well, the only P.T. Anderson flick I've seen was Punch-Drunk Love, which is one of my favorites now. The only QT movie I've seen is Pulp Fiction, which was amazing... Basically, I don't know. |

| Sean's Picks: ....in no particular order
1. M. Night - I haven't seen his first film Wide Awake yet, but his other 3, of course, are quite good.
2. P.T. Anderson
3. Christopher Nolan - I haven't seen his first film The Following yet, but his other 2 are good, especially Memento.
4. Sam Mendes - very cool director thus far.
5. David Fincher - Visually he is incredible, but he does have several films that are less than brilliant, Alien3 for example. He's also set to direct Mission Impossible 3. His credibility is dropping rather quickly in my opinion.
The problem with limiting it to modern directors is that their work is limited, but that also means their work still has the spark of a young director. |

| Oh yeah, Christopher Nolan is very good. Still think the Warchowski brothers have done the best. They were the first to create a heavily computerized movie without it being sterile of emotion, unlike, say, George Lucas. And this is made all the more admirable by the fact of how stupid and cheesy--on the surface--the plot is...they were able to make millions of people take seriously the notion of a cyber-Messiah kung-fu fighting to save the world from a "2001" nightmare. |

PETER JACKSON!!!!!!!!! | Eh, he deserves consideration just because of the accomplishment that was Fellowship of The Ring. But when you take away the pretty images and get right down to skill, he doesn't have the talent of a PTA or Tarantino. |
