| "The Surreal Life" - WB's show with Has-Been Celebs in "The Real World" apartmen I like this show, yes I do!
Once they were superstars. Now, they're back in the spotlight as they share a home and a series of outrageous and life-changing events for ten days and nights that can only be described as surreal.
The recipe for The Surreal Life is a simple one: Take seven bigger-than-life celebrities from every genre of the entertainment industry - rap music, heavy metal, feature films, sitcom, drama, and even reality television itself. Throw them together under pressure. Stir.
The"stars" are MC Hammer, Emmanuel Lewis, Brande Roderick, Corey Feldman, Gabrielle Carteris, Vince Neil, and Jerri Manthey. DISCUSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

| I thought Hammer was a televangelist now. Hmm, anyway...
I am intrigue by this show in some weird way. I know it will be stupid, but sometimes I like stupid... We'll see, I guess. |

| Reality shows are getting crazier and crazier. This one looks a bit interesting to me. Its always fun to see people sell-out their dignity. |

| Yesh, yesh.
No joke on the show - the premiere episode aired Thursday night and they will repeat the premiere episode this Sunday night on the WB network. |

| This is too funny. Even the WB's web site pokes fun at them. Look: When the stars fall from sight ... this is where they crash. http://www.thewb.com/Shows/GenericSh...,84196,00.html |

| Hehe. That link gave me some fascinating info, Supe. For example, did you know that Corey Feldman did the voice of Donatello in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III. I used to wonder why I didn't like the second installment of Ninja Turtles. It makes so much sense to me now. |

| I read the article in Entertainment Weekly...all the participants knew it was a joke, and it was an easy, short shoot...so they figured they might as well try. I respect has-been celebrities who sell out their dignity as opposed to pretending that they still have it. |

I'd like to watch the show, but I have class in an hour. |

| Now that this show's run has ended, were there any final thoughts?
I felt that the peak moment was when Vince Neal went into MC Hammer's church and they all prayed over him. I'm sure that Vince is still bitter about when his 4-year old daughter died of cancer, but he has to realize that God still calls us to believe in Him and worship Him.
I also thought the show started out with a flare but ended with a fizzle. The ego clashes the first few episodes were kind of veiled with a band-aid of pseudocommunity that the houseguests decided to do instead of really going deep with each other. Corey Feldman struck me as an individual whose maturity totally stunted from some traumatic things in his life from a younger age that he can't seem to get past.
And Emmanuel Lewis is one cool dude! Go Manny Mo! |
