| The Rolling Stones What is this heresy? I did a search for a Stones thread and none turned up! I figured I'd start a thread just for the sake of CGR having one. Anyway, I bought the newly released Forty Licks. I've only been listening to the first disc heavily, and it is quite excellent. I don't like The Rolling Stones subjectively as much as I do The Beatles or other bands from the era, but I recognize their importance and excellence. Now discuss |

| Only slightly less important than The Beatles, at the time.
They should REALLY stop touring. |

| No, they still sound surprisingly good, from all reports, but look at them! They are making fools of themselves and cheapening their legacy. |

| You're right at that. Keith Richards is taking this whole "gonna maintain the outlaw image" way too far.

| I like a few songs by them, but other than that I could do without them. My dad raves on and on about how great they are, though .

| I think I'd really like them if it weren't for Mick Jagger's voice. Normally I can get over a bad singer in a band, but for some reason, Mick just pushes my limit a little too far.
*edit* Fixed puncuation.

| VH1 rated "Satisfaction" to be the #1 rock song of all time and The Stones to be the #2 band of all time...
Piff.
What's your favorite Stones cuts, guys?
"Sympathy for the Devil" tops my list.
