capo help

ok, i found this sight with all of rich mullin's music on it and i am trying to learn how to do creed so i can do it for a youth service but i am kinda having a problem. if i played the piano the chords probably wouldn't be a problem but it has some really wierd ones

Bb2no3 F2no3/A Bb2no3 F2no3/A Gm9
Gm7 C7/G Bb2
Csusno3 F2 Dm
Csus C
Gm7sus/F C/F Bb2/F

i know how to do a few of those but i have no clue about most of them and i was wondering if there was a way i could just uses a capo that would make it a little easier to play. i am still bad at transposing and knowing how to do it with a capo. thanks to whoever can help

you may want to try to find a different transposition online...try different guitar sites and look around.

if not, then you probably have to transpose them. It's not that hard. Say, I have a song that goes like this:

C - G - F - C

and I wanted to change it so I could play it with a capo, let's say, on the 2nd fret... Your goal is to make your instrument play the same chord/tones... So all you would have to do (ref. to my ex.), is put the capo on the 2nd fret and transpose down by a whole step... and now you have:

Capo 2
Bb - F - Eb - Bb

hope that helps. if you're confused, i'll try to explain further.

If I were you, I'd put the capo on the third fret, and change....

Bb's to G's
C's to A's
F's to D's
Gm's to Em's
Dm's to Bm's

i still got a couple of wierd chords so i'm not sure if it's right yet

this is what it was this is what i turned it into
F2no3/A------------------------D2no3/F#
Bb2no3-------------------------G2no3
Gm9-----------------------------Em9
Csusno3------------------------Asusno3
C7/G ---------------------------A7/E
Gm7sus/F ---------------------Em7sus/D
Bb2/F --------------------------G2/D

F2no3/A as a chord doesn't make much sense, seing that A is the 3rd...and so it's in the chord...even if it is the bass note...so the "no3" notation can/should be ditched.

Playing it CapoIII in the D hand position gives you 200230

Bb2no3 makes sense. Played in CapoIII, G hand position gives you 3x0233.

Gm9 makes sense. Played in CapoIII, Em hand position gives you 024030.

Csusno3 doesn't makes sense. Try Csus4 (which implies no 3rd) instead. Played in CapoIII, A hand position gives you x02230.

C7/G makes sense. Played CapoIII, A hand position gives you 002020.

Em7sus(4)/F makes sense, but is kind of a weird, not-full-sounding chord. Played CapoIII, Em hand position, it would be xx0200.

Bb2/F makes sense, but will probably be a "new" position for your hand. In CapoIII, hand position "X," it is played: x20233.

Hope that helps...

Nate
