crazy weird movies

Anybody out there like to watch those crazy weird movies that makes you think? Like the kind that you have no idea whats going on until the very end and your like "OOOOOHHHHHHHH!!!!!" and you finally get it? A couple of my favorites like this are Memento and Fight Club. Anyone else have recomendations for movies like these?

Being John Malkovich is one of the weirdest movies I've yet to see.

Clockwork Orange (or just look for a film by Stanley Kubrik)

The Cell was pretty weird too

"Punch-Drunk Love" is wonderfully weird.

"Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" has some seriously trippy visuals. But then again, the film is about two guys doing drugs in Las Vegas.

Most people think "Magnolia" is weird, but I don't think so.

And of course, the weirdest of all weird movies: "Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory." Seriously, who thought that up??? What a twisted but creative imagination.

Memento wasn't really that weird. It just employed an odd structure

That was definately one weird movie.

Sean's Weird Movie Suggestions:

Henry Fool - This movie was so weird and so real at the same time. Very strange.

The Game - same director as Fight Club

Schizopolis - the weirdest movie I have ever seen. Written and directed and staring by Steven Soderbergh. It didn't realy have a plot.

Gray's Anatomy - another Steven Soderbergh film. I haven't seen this one. The movie is a 90 minutes monologue.

Mulholland Drive - A David Lynch film, need I say more?

Yes. I'm not sure that the majority (or more) of the posters on this forum are familiar with Lynch. I personally, don't care for his directorial style. It rubs me the wrong way for some reason.

I've seen it. The whole thing is about an eye problem this guy named Spalding Gray has. He just sits there and talks about it the whole time. It's pretty interesting and funny at times too. I came across it one afternoon just flipping channels. It was on the Independant Film Channel. Cool channel. I also saw Dead Alive on there. I couldn't believe that the same Peter Jackson who directed Lord of the Rings. I mean, Dead Alive was cool and funny and everything...but nothing near Lord of the Rings.

I LOVED THAT MOVIE. I used to borrow and watch it all the time from a family friend. Don't diss the candy man.

BTW that was a book to start with, and it had a sequel called Willy Wonka and the Glass Elevator. Yes, I read it.

Sean couldn't stand that movie. Its just not my thing. I honestly turn off about 35 minutes through the movie. That very rarely happens with me. I'm just not into movies like that.

I'm not sure how you could deny the weirdness of the end of that movie. That definately isnt' normal.

I've only seen the one film. Well, actually I saw Elephant Man like 10 years ago, but that doesn't really count.

Mulholland Drive is certainly unique. I know I've never seen anything like that. You can't really compare it to other films since it doesn't follow any of the conventions of other films. I thought it was interesting and enjoyed it, I guesse. But I certainly couldn't that movie more than once every once and a while.

I'm pretty sure that Roald Dahl thought that up. He wrote the books, after all Also, he wrote The Witches, James and the Giant Peach and MANY other great books.

Vanilla Sky was a great one... Memento messes with your mind a bit... Fight club the first time around...

Roald Dahl = genius. Wrote some of the best children's books in existance, probably the best being The BFG or James' Marvellous Medicine, both of which were made into animated films.

His work reminds me of Spike Milligan's.

Anyway, for weirdness, Vanilla Sky and The Game have to be up there. And the first bit of the Matrix is kinda odd, but nothing spectacular.

The Cell and Vannila Sky, Soilent Green, and The Omega Man (the latter being two trippy Charlton Heston movies).
