(Nashville, TN) December 12, 2002 - Grammy-award winning Steven Curtis Chapman, just weeks away from releasing his 13th project All About Love (1/28/03), will be a part of the fourth annual CBS special “A Home For The Holidays.” This special, which celebrates the joys of adoption, will be broadcast Friday, December 20th at 8pm/ET, PT and 7pm CT on CBS.
Chapman joins some of today's most popular artists such as country and pop sensation Faith Hill, rock group Creed, teen artist Vanessa Carlton, popular R&B artist Usher, and others to perform during the entertainment special.
Chapman will perform "When Love Takes You In," a song he wrote about his own adoption experience and especially for his adopted daughter, Shaohannah Chapman. The song, originally recorded for his RIAA certified gold album, Declaration, will appear as a bonus track on his new record, All About Love.
In addition, four pre-taped story segments will be presented by celebrities who either have their own adoption experiences or are deeply involved with children's issues. These touching stories, highlighting many exceptional American children and families involved in this rewarding process, will be told by Martin Sheen, Rene Russo, Calista Flockhart, among others, throughout the musical performances.
Following the success of the past three annual shows, this year's “A Home For The Holidays” continues to share moving stories about adoption to raise awareness of this important social issue. It will be presented in association with The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption and the Children's Action Network.
Formed in 1990 by leaders in the entertainment industry, the Children’s Action Network (CAN) is dedicated to improving the lives of America’s children. Through extensive public education campaigns, community-based programs and policy initiatives CAN uses the power of the entertainment community to increase awareness about children’s issues and to make them a top priority in everyday life.
