Largest Youth Specialties Event Ever Experiences Passion

(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) December 19, 2002 – Passion Conferences founder/director Louie Giglio and sixsteps/Sparrow Records’ Chris Tomlin and David Crowder Band were featured at the largest Youth Specialties National Youth Workers Convention ever as part of the Passion Worship Experience. Held recently in The Nashville Convention Center, the sold-out event drew 5,600 delegates from all across the nation and beyond.

In addition to Nashville, the Passion Worship Experience was featured in all three of the fall Youth Specialties conventions, including Sacramento, CA, and Pittsburgh, PA, with more than 12,000 delegates in all attending. Produced by Passion Conferences, a division of Choice Ministries, the Youth Specialties Passion Worship Experience was a resounding success.

“In order for worship to be sustainable, it must intertwine our experience of God with the truth of God,” said Michael Yaconelli, Youth Specialties owner. “Passion has found a way to make worship deep and truth present. Passion creates an atmosphere where God's spirit can and does alter those who are present.”

Passion Conferences, began in 1995 by Louie Giglio, invites students everywhere to seek God wholeheartedly in an atmosphere of corporate worship. The unique vision of Passion is to bring Christian college and university students together from campuses and ministries everywhere to draw strength and encouragement from God and one another. For more than 30 years, Youth Specialties has worked alongside Christian youth workers of just about every denomination and youth-serving organization.
