That's my opinion; give it back!

I agree completely.

I love both of them, but LOTR has Star Wars beat hands down in every area. LOTR simply started out with more to work with. All Peter Jackson had to do was figure out what to rearrange and cut out, he didn't have to make up new content to extend the movie to the desired length. Star Wars sometimes feels like they're just trying to drag out the movie to make it a full length movie. That said, I love all the Star Wars movies, and would gladly pay a little money to see them again. LOTR is just way more so. And Tolkien is the greatest literary genius of the millenium, so of course the movie has a chance of being good. I'm just glad they didn't totally screw it up like so many books turned into movies.
Just a note on that, for anyone that thinks that Peter Jackson totally mutilated the book, he didn't. He simply rearranged the events into their proper chronological order (he added a few things, but nothing too major). He did what he had to do, if he left it exactly like Tolkien wrote it (which was great for the book, but was never intended for a movie) everyone except the most hardcore fans would have been confused. It was a great movie!!!

Tolkien Fan for life!!!

if it was between the star wars "universe" and middle-earthness, then i would say star wars, definately,
As for movies, if Lucas never realeased episodes 1&2, (crap), then i might venture to say star wars, but now that they are out, i'd have to say Lord of the rings.
