I know i have a few bass licks i have made myself laying around.. I will tab them out later.. But if some of you guys wanna tab out a lick or two to share, that yu have made, or maybe one you just like to play.. That would be awsome for all of us!
(maybe a mod wants to sticky this..)

I will have been playing bass for 4 years in March of 2003.

How good am I at slap and pop? Well, I am decent at the technique but I can't write stuff for it as well I as can write stuff using other techniques. I actually have a clip of me slapping. It is me playing the main slapping lick of Stuart Hamm's song, Country Music (A Night In Hell).

I consider myself to be a Stu Hamm protégé. He is my favorite bassist, so I try to build my style around his, but I also want to add other influences to make my sound unique.

I recently ordered the Joe Satriani Live In San Fancisco DVD and the Dream Theater Metropolis 2000: Live Scenes from New York. I can't wait for them to arrive from Amazon. They just shipped today. Yipee!

Well if you like Satch, you'll love the San Francisco DVD man
It's a pity you don't live in New Zealand, coz me and my friend are looking for a bassist, and with your kind of influences and definate skill, you would be perfect.
Btw have you heard of Level 42?
I don't know the name of the guy in it... but he's a really fast slapper and popper etc.

Nope, I've never heard of Level42.

I hear New Zealand is beautiful...and I've seen it through Lord of the Rings, seeing as how they were filmed there. New Zealand is like, the first country to see the new day.

crapola, slap_j that is some mad slapping stuff. I am listening to it right now and I am wondering how in the world that you are popping that fast. I can do hellicopters all day long all over the neck and I can slap good and all but I just can't pop with two fingers really fast and I need to work on that, I was wondering if there an exercise that you could share that would help me with my popping.

Any excercise? Hmmmm. I really dunno. I just wanted to learn that song, so I took it slow and then gradually sped it up. As to how to get fast. Just keep practicing. I can play that song really fast. As fast as Stu plays it towards the end of his bass solo on Joe Satriani Live from San Francisco. It's cool being able to slap that fast...but not very applicable. Tapping fast is much more useful IMO.
