My first bass was a used black Squier P-Bass. I loved it too. Since then I've had two other basses at two different price ranges ($695 and $1799), but even though they're awesome, nothing's like your first bass.

I have an Ibanez SR-406 and a Peavey Milestone II. I'm still trying to decide what to do with the Ibanez, there might be a chance to get a decent six for cheap in the near future...I'm in a state of changing almost everything I have and alot of my ideas about music are changing.

well, I'd quote my post from the thread "Crate Amps", but right now, I'm feeling a little lazy.

It won't duplicate the B very well at all. They try to jump out of their casings without the compressor cranked, and then - well, you know what the compressor does to the rest of the notes. The 400 Combo is a 4-string amp.

I'm gonna try to trade it in for a Bassman 400 head and get a 2X10 and a 1X18 both Hartke cabs. someday. (my mommy and daddy quit buying me gear about 10 years ago...when I moved out)

I currently have 3 basses: a Squier P-Bass Special (bass I started with) a Dean Edge Custom 4, and a Dean Edge Custom 5, playing through a Hartke B-90 combo that I got for Christmas

For sub-1000 dollar basses, the Deans play exceptionally well, IMO... I was surprised at the quality of the B-string on my Custom 5 and impressed with the quality of the necks and fretboards on the two Deans.

I have Elixirs on my Squier and would love to eventually get some for the other two as well, but they do cost a pretty penny

I recently got a carvin bolt kit 5 string with active/passive electronics. it came with carvin strings and those things are the worst strings I have ever used so I took them off and put a set of fender strings that I had sitting on a shelf that I had used on my jazz bass for a little while and it sounded 10 times better, NEVER USE CARVIN STRINGS THOSE THINGS ARE TERRIBLE.
