Even though the BCS got the 2 undefeated teams to play each other, it still SUCKS this year. The Big 10 champion is not in the Rose Bowl. What a travesty.

Thanks BCS, you've killed the BIGGEST College Football bowl tradition of them all: the Big Ten/Pac Ten shootout in the Rose Bowl. How far we've fallen. Its a sad day in college football.

Agreed. I used to love sitting down for 14 hours of great college football on New Year's Day. And now that has been taken away. I hat the BCS more for that than its idiocy.

This is just off the top of my head, so forgive me if I'm mistaken, but this year's bowl matchups would/could be, if the old system was still in place (and I'm just picking at large teams that I would like to see where):

Rose Bowl - Pac 10/Big 10
Orange Bowl - Big 12/at large
Sugar Bowl - SEC/at large
Fiesta Bowl - at large/at large

Rose Bowl - Ohio State/Washington State
Orange Bowl - Oklahoma/USC
Sugar Bowl - Georgia/Iowa
Fiesta Bowl - Miami/somebody help me here.

Plus you have all the minor New Year's Day bowls, Cotton, etc.

Could have been a great day.

The pairings are ridiculous. I've said it a thousand times, college football (and basketball) is becoming nothing more than a big business (not to the fans but the commissioners and networks). It's sad, but the almighty $ is more important to the B(C)S than tradition will ever be, if only because of the insane amount of money it generates. Oh well, go Ohio State and go Georgia!

The Orange bowl selecting Iowa was indeed horrible since it screws the Rose Bowl tradition over. It's all about money now...

Now i will say this: it is nice that the BCS brings together the top two teams whereas this year, OSU would be in the Rose Bowl and Miami in the Orange and we'd never know who would win.

Here's my cure to the BCS bug. I've posted it once before, but I figured 'tis the season to diss the BCS.

Rose Bowl-Big10 champ vs. Pac10 champ
Cotton Bowl-Big12 champ vs. @ large team
Sugar Bowl-SEC champ vs. Big East champ
Gator Bowl-ACC champ or Notre Dame vs. @ large or Notre Dame
Fiesta Bowl-Rose winner vs. Cotton winner
Orange Bowl-Sugar winner vs. Gator winner
Champions Bowl (probably would take place at different site every year or in D.C. or New York)-Fiesta winner vs. Orange winner

So if I ran College football this is how it would shake down

Rose-Ohio St. vs. Washington St.
Cotton-Oklahoma vs. USC
Sugar-Georgia vs. Miami
Gator-FSU vs. Iowa

Sorry for rambling and hope y'all got all that

There are several teams that deserve to be in more than the Wolverines (Kansas State and Notre Dame to name two).

If anyone doesn't deserve to be in the B(C)S, it's Florida State. I say take the EZZ (ACC)'s BCS berth away. Make them earn it. If you're not in the top 15 of either poll OR the top 10 of the BCS (there are only 8 BCS bowl slots) you shouldn't get in. FSU is 16 in each poll and 14th in the B(C)S. If they actually went by the best 8 teams in the country there would be no ACC school in the BCS this season, which wouldn't bother me a bit

actually I think a playoff system is better. And CSU should not be in the Moutain West, we should be in the Big 12. Take out Baylor or Kansas, but put CSU in the Big 12.

That'd certainly be interesting.

CSU's has a pretty good team don't they? I haven't heard much about them but if I can remember correctly they had a pretty good season this year. I say put them in the North in place of Kansas so we can still have the doormat Baylor team to beat up on every year.

You have to consider that once you rearange a conference you can't just do it for football and I don't think it would be fair with Kansas playing in the MWC in basketball.

Plus, tell me why CSU deserves a boost to a big conference anymore than TCU, or Air Force, or Hawaii, or Marshall, or Louisville, or S.Miss, or ...well, you get the point.

Yeah, I have to agree that TCU deserves the move to the Big XII in football, basketball and baseball. They've proven they can contend in all three sports. -- although they had a bad game today in basketball vs. Louisiana-Monroe.
