there is already a playoff system of sorts: its called the REGULAR SEASON.

If we are going to crown the "best" team, we must take into account how they played the whole season. Playoffs are not always won by the best team, but the team who gets hot for 4 or 5 games. A playoff would not get us the top two teams every year and in my mind would be no less full of controversy than the BCS now. We should just modify the BCS, saying that the two top teams play, then every other tie-in is just as it was before.
