Prayer.

Ok, guys. I need your help. Anyone who reads this before tonight (Saturday the 7th) and has something to say, I would really appreciate hearing it!

Ok, why do we pray?

What is prayer?

Why should we have to ask God for things, if He already knows?

Does it make a difference, or are things just going to happen one way no matter what?

What are some of your favorite verses related to prayer?

Do we need to pray a certain way?

Thanks guys, anything you have to say would be much appreciated, I'm trying to look at this from different angles before our Bible Study tonight.

I had a blast at Relient K's concert at Creation West this year, so here are some of my favorite quotes, probably somewhat paraphrased :

"You're nice" -Relient K, speaking to their faithful crowd

"It'll be good for a laugh, and then you can use it for a coaster." -Relient K , when referring to the new short little Veggie Tale/Relient K cd comin' out.

"You know what, I just thought of something as we were playing that. This would be the perfect song for a commercial for those press-on fingernails ladies use. Hmmm." -Relient K (yet again) while performing Pressin' On

we pray to develope a deeper relationship with God. jesus constantly prayed to his father. if he was simply asking for things, it would be pointless because he is all powerful and knows everything. he prayed to draw close to our heavenly father. that's what we should do. besides Jesus asks us to pray when he outlines prayer for us in what we call the "lord's prayer"(im embarrassed i don't remember the reference). other instances too. I am not calvanist and do not technically believe that everything is predetermined, so most iportantly God can do whatever he wants with earthly events. he always hears our prayers, but they will not change anything if they do not align with his will. however, we still must pray for things because we don't know what his will entails. also, there is not specific way to pray, as long as you talk with God. he can hear you in any manner. i might have forgotter a couple questions sorry.
