Hometown Movies

Have you had any movies filmed in your town/city? It so, which one(s)?

In Sarnia, Ontario, the've filmed 3 that I know of that made it big:

Renaissance Man - The Bridge they crossed while on the way to Stratford
Bless the Child - The Bridge the car fell off of and exploded on the way down.
Bowling for Columbine - The Taco Bell, I believe... Haven't seen this one yet, but I may sometime.

I've seen or heard of a couple... Jack Frost was filmed in Truckee, CA where I was born... Man on the Moon had a scene in a South Tahoe hotel/casino.... Hmm... A few Dean Koontz books have gone to Lake Tahoe...

Well, a lot of famous people go there, anyhow

Parts of The Horse Whisperer and The River Wild were filmed in my part of MT, just not in my town.

And most of a River Runs Through It was filmed just north of town.

Austin has a fairly good number of films filmed here.

Waking Life (I saw this for the first time 2 days ago)
The New Guy (my friend is an extra in this and the mall in it is the mall that I always go to that is right by my house)
The Faculty (another friend was an extra in several scenes of this. One shot is a close up of just him)
Varsity Blues (I think)
Spy Kids 1 and 2
Slacker
SubUrbia (parts of this were just like a mile from my old house)
Office Space (my old baseball coaches wife was an extra)
Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Most of Richard Linklater's (Waking Life, SubUrbia) and Robert Rodriguez's (The Faculty) other films too.

There are plenty more.

Um... according to a little internet research, "Stephen King's Sometimes They Come Back" was filmed in the neighboring town...

Amistad was also filmed nearby, and Mystic Pizza.

Chi Town, baby! (Grrr... You get lots of movies... Don't forget Save The Last Dance)

I think that the Weird Al Classic, "UHF" was filmed in Austin mostly.

I had not heard that before. That'd be real cool.
