Ethan Luck!

Although, I think I'm just a little partial cuz I met him...

Otherwise, I would say Eric Weaver.

But, Ethan is my personal choice...

ethan is definitely awesome. however, i would asy the best christian guitarist is phil keaggy. even though i'm not a big fan of his, i have heard one of his instrumental projects and he is unbelievable.

I'm going to say Phil Keaggy...along with a lot of the Nashville session guys who do everything, but still conibute to Christian music (Dan Huff, Jerry McPherson, etc.). I should also mention one local player I play with who is amazing, but I know he wouldn't like it!

haha, this topic comes up so often nowadays.

ANYWAY...

Phil Keaggy (best overall!)
Rex Carroll (of Whitecross)
Dave Beegle (of Fourth Estate)
Chris Impellitteri (of Impellitteri)
David Zaffiro (of Bloodgood)
Larry Dean (of Trytan)
Michael Blake (of Gideon's Press)
Lanny Cordola (solo artist)
Oz Fox (of Stryper)
Jeff Scheetz (of ??? - someone else on CGR knows him - I found a couple tracks on Kazaa and he's gooooood)

The problem is... how do we define the word "best"?!

There are really only three objective ways as I can see it.

1. Most innovative (changed the way the instrument is played most)

2. Most influential (who influenced the most other guitarists)

3. Most technically skilled (who can play the most difficult pieces)

Stryper is definately not christian....but i guess thats a whole different topic. I read a book a while back and we went over it in class and it talked about subliminal messages and their colors and the relationship with satanic rituals and signs. Very interesting. but anyway lol......

Definitely Doyle Dykes, He's not well known in the Christian Music World, but he's a guitarist and a Christian and he's really really good. Check his stuff out at www.doyledykes.com
