Some spoilers below

I just saw it. I'd have to agree with a lot of what Scott and Goodness said. Except while Goodness would have rather slept through it, I still enjoyed it like Scott.

Like them, I thought the whole year in captivity was real goofy. That it didn't fit in a Bond film. Especially when that crappy crappy Madonna song is playing over the it. What were they thinking having a crappy pop Madonna song over a guy getting tortured? The movie never seemed to flow correctly. It just seemed like a constant excuse for action sequences. I was never really sure why Bond was doing what he was doing. Stuff just seemed to be happening. I understand that Bond films aren't suppose to be realistic, but the fencing scene in the middle seemed completely out in left field. I would think people would care that a guy worth millions is in a fencing club having an actual sword fight. The whole thing in Iceland seemed completely unbelievable too. I love the fact that like in so many other films, including Bond parodies, the threat is a huge unstoppable lazer.

I've never been a fan of Halle Barry and this film only solidified my dislike. I don't think she's attractive and I dont' think shes an especially good actress. This movie certainly proved she has no comic timing. I didn't think any of her jokes were funny or delivered very well. I expect cheesy one-liners and puns in a Bond film. When Pierce said them I smirked. When she said them I shook my head in disgust. And like I said before, I dont' think shes attractive. That other girl would have been a munch better bond girl.

Like others before mentioned, it seemed they replaced a clever plot with special effects. What is real sad about that is that the effects weren't that great very often. There were many parts that I thought looked real bad, i.e. surfing away from the lazer. If they hadn't put in some many bad especially effects and used that money to get a better script, this movie could have been much better.

Of course with all that said, I still enjoyed it. When they make another one, I'm sure I'll go see it. At least this one is much better than the last one, but that really isn't much of a compliment.

the theatre doesn't make money on ticket sales anyways, they make the majority of it on concessions and merchandise. and i think for how much a had to pay, $6, is worth viewing two movies. it didn't hurt them, but it did me, i had to sit through a bad movie. got what i deserved?

Just a quick announcement for everyone... This thread WILL NOT turn into a debate about the legality, morality, or any other ity of sneaking into movies.

You may continue.

But it'd be soooo interesting.

The Clash song you heard was London Calling, a tremendous song. Everyone go buy it now.

But I've only seen 4-5 bond movies
And you call yourself a film fan?

I've seen them all several times, I think it's in the syllabus or something here. Or it could just be that they show them regularly on the TV.
