| yeah i know exactly what you're talkign about with the needing to be ministered to. i've found that is very true for me in our church. maybe it's because of some other factors but i have found that chapel at MNW on fridays is sort of my recharge time. the past two weeks i've been playing but it's still a time of recharging so to speak, though not quite the same as when i wasn't playing. maybe it's just me and my experi3ences recently, but there's something about acoustic music that gives a more intimate feel if that's the right word. i've found that a couple acoustic guitars or even one for that matter, can usher me into the presence of God much easier than a more technical band setup. |

| yeah, well even in that though, listening to and playing acoustic music is a totally different experience. even for someone like me who plays guitar, just letting yourself be lost in the music is something that is rather new to me, because we went from a very contemporary church, to a very traditional one(piano doing everything) and stayed there and it changed to a contemporary one now. that's good it's just that it lacks the closeness. i was thinking about that last semester, just the fact that i wasn't playing. that was rather odd for me at the beginning, yet looking back on it that was a very good thing, because it allowed me to really begin to develop an appreciation for that style of worship. mexico brought that to a climax adn it's still there now, though a little bit less now that i am playing. i guess me not playing for all of last semester and a fair amount of this one really was good for me. as i look back on it that's one lesson that i've learned independent of any classroom work. |

"shake 'n Bake" umm yeah literally... earthquakes adn sky high temps... that's SoCali for you:kroll: i think the hottest it's ever been here is 110F, or about 43C but tha'ts been a few years. usually we dont get much higher than 36-38C adn that's rare even in the summer. |
