Today I got up at 7:30 and went to Health class. The lecture in there was about Abuse in our society. It eventually got into date rape drugs (XTC, Roofies, Special K, GHB). I found the conversation to be pretty interesting. Once that class was over, I hopped into my car and went home. I live in the same city as my college. I decided to skip my other two classes today (English and Psychology) because my mom is coming home today after a two week stay in the hospital! YAYAYAYAYAY!!!

Hmmm, it's Saturday and that means SNL. Oh wait...it's a re-run. Oh well, I may tune in anyway. Today started out kinda like any other Saturday. I woke up around 7:00, got sleepy again about 10 minutes later and slept 'till about 9:40. I took my youngest brother to see the new Harry Potter movie today. It was pretty good, I liked it better than the first one. Of course neither was as entertaining as their books. The movie was pretty long...about 160 minutes. I can only imagine how long the 4th movie will be considering the length of the 4th book. A few hours after we got home, my little bro got sick. That sucks. I hope it was just the popcorn and not a virus. I also got the Spider-Man DVD today. I haven't watched the movie yet, but I've watched the special features. Let's see, is there anything else. Right now I'm listening to Metallica's first album, Kill 'Em All. It isn't my favorite album of theirs...but it's good none the less (especially songs like Motorbreath and Jump In the Fire).

Today was Sunday. It's been like many Sundays for the past few weeks. No church...no nothing. Lethargy sets in not too long after waking. We have to be there constantly for my mom who, even though is home from the hospital, still requires tons of care. She even has an IV here at home. Urg. I hope her leg heals...prayers anyone? Anyway, didn't do much of anything today. The only exciting thing was me regestering for eBay and bidding on something I really hope I win...and for a reasonable price. I'll be watching. The auction ends on Tuesday around 9:00AM so I have to be awake and alert to thwart any last minute bids from my adversaries. Actually I think I'll try proxy bidding. I'll let my constant readers (are there any???) know if I won, in Tuesday's entry.

Today my Health class was cancelled (I'm assuming my professor has already left for Thanksgiving) so I didn't have to leave for school until 11:30. I had to spend some of my free time finishing an English paper, but mostly I just sat around. I left for English at 11:30 and all we had to do in there today was turn in our papers and fill out an instructor evaluation. I decided to skip my Psychology class since I have a 97% in there and attendance isn't required. I got home and pondered what I should spend my $23 on. I decided I wanted a new DVD, so I looked online to decide what I should get. It came down to three choices...Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, and The Usual Suspects. I decided on The Usual Suspects. So, I went to Wal-Mart and picked up a copy of the Special Edition DVD. It was the first DVD I'd purchased that was double sided. One side was the movie and the other side was the extra features. I got home and watched the movie on my Playstation 2. It was great. I found myself asking myself, "Who is Keyser Soze?". I recommend it to everyone...as long as you're mature enough...it's rated R...mainly for profanity...the violence is much less than many R movies....and the only sex/nudity is that a woman's bra is visible in a blurry flashback scene.

| Hi, Josh!
I hope your mom gets better soon. I'll be praying for her.
So, I just thought I'd say "hi," which I already did...

Today was my last day of school before Thanksgiving break. My 5 day weekend begins at 12:01 AM Wednesday morning. YEAH! This morning I woke up around 7:00 and took my shower and got ready for school and stuff. I went out into the cold weather and hopped in my car (a 1996 Mercury Cougar in case you didn't know) and drove to school. I arrived and parked in one of the many parking lots, and the biggest, the one in front of the coliseum. I then walked all the way across the campus to the Foster building where my Music Appreciation class is held. Today we focused mainly on composer Aaron Copeland. He's pretty cool, I especially like his "Fanfare for the Common Man". Download it, I bet you'll recognize it. Next was my Goegraphy 101 class in the Roark building (yeah, I know you don't know where it is). We all got 2 points for extra credit for showing up since it's Thanksgiving week. SWEET! Today was learned about crude birth rate (CBR), crude death rate (CDR), and total fertility rate (TFR). The TFR tells the average of how many children are birthed per woman. A nation needs a TFR of 2.1 to replace itself as the older citizens die off. The US has a TFR of 2.5. The world has an overall TFR of 3.3. I think the highest nation has something like a TFR of 7 something. China used to have a TFR of 5.1 until it's one child per family policy. Now it has dropped to 1.8. When I got home I found that I had won the eBay auction I was talking about. I won an Ibanez BTB 1000 bass and hardshell case for it for only $655. The total retail for these two is about $1700. I just love eBay now. Today one of me and my brother's best friend is supposed to stop by and spend the night as his family travels through the state on their way to Ohio. You might know him as Ni-Cd.
Here is a pic of the bass I won in the auction.

I missed my post last night. I started feeling like crap and feel asleep around 9:00. When I woke up this morning at 4:00 I was totally confused. I knew where I was, but I had no idea why I was in my bed, because I didn't remember going to bed. Anyway, today is Thanksgiving. Yippie kai ay! I went over to my Grandmother's (who I will refer to as Mamaw) and Grandfather's (who I will refer to as Papaw) house today. We had Thanksgiving dinner and it was great. Our friend Nathan did end up coming over and my brother decided to go to Ohio with him...so off they went. Well, tommorrow's another day...

Yeah, I guess I've been a little more faithful to my blog than you...but just a little.
Psychology is a great field. You can go into school psychology, clinical psychology, industrial/organizational psychology, and forensic psychology. It's great. I think I'm going into either clinical psychology or industrial/organizational psychology. I'm not sure yet since this is only my first semester of college.

Ok, ok, it's actually Saturday but only by 30 minutes so if you don't tell anyone, I won't. Today was supposedly the biggest shopping day of the year. I now believe it. I wanted to go out and get a DVD today so I decided to wait until after the sale at Wal-Mart ended at 11:00 AM. I got there around 1:30 PM and it was still crowded. I just went in and grabbed Pulp Fiction and left. Later after I was home, around 8:00 PM, I popped Pulp Fiction in and watched it. It was very good. It did have excessive swearing (nearly 260 f-words and other colorful phrases) and what violence it did have was pretty graphic, but the story and the fact that it was a morality tale made it worth it. The movie can be pretty confusing considering how it jumped in time to different scenes (the end of the movie is actually in the middle of it) but it's a cool way to tell a story. Tomorrow I'm going over to my best friends house. I haven't seen him since college started and he attends a different college than me, so it should be pretty fun.

Today is the last day of November for 2002. Goody. So, I went over to my friend's house today and we watched my new "The Usual Suspects" DVD. He loved it, as anyone would. Afterwards we played a little bit of music. Since I didn't bring my bass, I played guitar and he played the drums. Afterwards we talked for about 2 hours. It was an enlightening conversation since I hadn't seen him since just before college began back in late August. Anyway, now there is only one week left of classes and then the finals week and then I get 4 weeks and 1 day off for Christmas break. Yippie kai ay!
