| I've got a Remo and it sounds great. Be careful of some of those djembes. They have a goat skin tacked across the rim for a head. I can't see myself skinning a goat, tanning the hide, trimming it to fit my drum, and then tacking it back across the rim.
Not that anyone actually does that (who knows?), but the head changes on the Remos have got to be easier than that! Anyway... the synthetic heads are manufactured to get a realistic "skin" sound. A lot of pros use 'em so they gotta be okay. |
