yeah,I thought this movie was gonna be just another corny bio,but it seems
this one don't fall in that category, still I don't think it's worth seeing anyways

well, it seems like there are three pages of speculation and one person who has actually seen it. I waver back and forth about whether i like eminem, however, i thought the move was much better than i thought it would be. If youre not easily offended go see it, its worth my 5 bucks (yay for student discounts)

Well I saw 8 Mile on Thanksgiving night. I agree with Goodness that it is predictible at times. You kinda know what is going to happen, but the way in which it happens is quite unexpected. Eminem was a much better actor than I expected. Actually, he was quite a good actor. I would (sort of) consider myself to be a "fan" of Eminem on the basis that he is such a talented rapper. I do NOT own any of his cds (mp3 only) and I would NEVER see him in concert, but as a rapper he is quite good. I sort of suspect from the lyrics of a few of his songs and also his acting ability in 8 Mile that the whole slim shady thing is an act he puts on to make money. As the lyrics say in "Without Me,"

"I've created a monster. 'Cuz noone wants to see Marshall no more, just shady, i'm chopped liver! Well if you want Shady, then this is what I'll give ya: a little of me mixed with some hard liquor. "

Adding to this is the fact that his very early stuff is NOTHING like the stuff he does now. He is not nearly as angry or as controversial... In my opinion, its an act put on by a former poor kid who has pulled it off to make the money he wanted.

I saw 8-Mile at a dollar theater and found it to be average if not slightly above average. Eminem was good enough; he didn't harm the film in any way. There were a couple of good scenes that benefited from Curtis Hanson's directing, but overall the film lacked focus. Some things seemed to be thrown in for no reason and were out of place. I think it was pretty good compared to the films other MTV stars have been in.

I saw this movie yesterday and i would have to agree with the above synopsis as well as Goodness'. Eminem is quite a talented artist, and his acting is rather good as well. It was a bit choppy at times, but overall a decent movie.
