(Nashville, TN) November 7, 2002 - Action House TV’s Sally Colón recently graced the cover of the November 5 issue of Woman’s World Magazine. Recommending a new soy diet that helped the actress/model/ recording artist lose several inches from her waist, Colón speaks out in the feature article on the importance of finding a healthy diet that works with a woman’s lifestyle and eating habits.
“There is a tremendous amount of pressure on women today. Careers and family force women to foster busy and stressful lives that often lead to poor health decisions,” explains Colón. “It is important for a woman to find a diet that works with her body and with her schedule. By achieving and maintaining a proper weight, women feel better about themselves, physically and mentally. In today’s image-driven society, a positive self-image can go a long way.”
Colón is also reaching out to women by co-hosting the new magazine-style talk show, Insight for Women, Family and Faith. Similar to ABC’s "The View," hosted by Barbara Walters, the show focuses on women's concerns from a Christian perspective. Working alongside Lakita Garth and Holly McClure, Colón is excited about the opportunities that lie ahead. Debuting last month, the show can be found on FamilyNet, CTN, I-Life TV, BCTV, and Cornerstone TV.
In addition to her new duties with Insight, Colón will continue hosting and producing the popular Christian music video show, Action House TV. Launching the first show from the lots of CBS in 1999, Action House TV has quickly become the largest inspirational video show in the country, potentially viewed in more than 250 million homes each week. Recently adding Trinity Broadcasting Network, Action House TV can also be seen on the following networks: Family Net, Christian Family Network, ILife, TCT Network, Cornerstone TV, Daystar Television Network, Sky Angel Network, Victory Network, Catholic TV, The Dream Network, Freedom TV, DirecTV, Christian.TV, Streaming Faith, Golden Eagle, Mongolian TV, and the Australian Christian Network.
Shortly after leaving a 1.3 million dollar contract with Dream Works Records as part of Viva, better known today as the popular Latin female quartet, Soluna, Colón was introduced through a mutual friend to Clifford Scamara, founder of Action House Ministries. Scamara asked Colón to consider being a part of the weekly inner-city outreach connected to the Dream Center of Los Angeles.
Colón came on board as a part-time volunteer and felt it was exactly where she should be. Within a few months, she committed to going to Peru on a missions trip with the Action House team, ministering to the local churches and teaching them how to mobilize their young people using the performing arts.
As the opportunity became open to produce and host the Christian music video show created by Action House, Colón found herself right in the midst of everything she had trained for and loved. It became apparent that this was a wonderful choice for her as she shared the same vision as Action House ministries, while providing an arena in which to use her God-given talents.
