Are you sure SCC's Tele is "natural" colored....??? I know the wood doesn't come off the tree that color, and I think the company calls it "Butterscotch," but I'm not positive...

I've played both, I like both. I cannot say which is better. I'd have one of both but if you can only have one the strat would be better because it is more versatile.

The last time I played a tele I felt like the neck was too thin. It felt too small in my hands... It sounds liek you've already made up your mind.

btw, I'm a Les Paul guy

If your referring to the one that he is holding on the back of the decleration cd that is a butterscotch finish. That's what color I want my tele to be

:kcool: My 2 cents... I have a Strat (El Mexicana), but I have upgraded the bridge pick-up w/ a Lace Dually Red. One of my best buddies has an American Tele... I have played both mucho....
In my small and humble opinion I say go Strat all the way. I have been playing quite a while and the Strat is the most versatile guitar I have ever played. I also own Ibanez, Ovation, Martin and Epiphone guitars and the Strat is my primary instrument. I play in a C.C. band as well as our P/W band at church and 99.9% of the time I play the Strat. For me, it has it all (even w/o the upgrades I have done). But in the end friend, it's yo thang do what you wanna do. Peace

Fenders are to expensive if your on a budget. Right now I'm looking into the Ibanez rg series. Which isnt much cheaper, but better components. In my opinion anyway

WHAT?! You cannot be serious! $750 for an american made guitar is not expensive. And the fender standard series (MIM) will blow the rg series off the face of the earth any day.
I'm a fender man.
