Hell isn't always a bad word. This song is a seriously toned song, and it is true that some people can live "hell on earth". In my opinon, hell can be used in that instance. Hey, they're trying to get a message across, and it's not used losely, either.

From the Bible:

Many instances that contain a word spelled h-e-l-l.

- Many places, by God

Hell is always a bad word? Even my Mom doesn't think that (that's not an insult, I'm just saying my Mom can be picky with words).

Yeah, we agree again. So I have to think of a different response. That makes me mad...How come you get to post *our* ideas first? j/k

I do think it is great how CCM artists have been crossing over lately, like Stacy Orrico to MTV and now Jaci (Velasquez) to porn. Great news.- Benj

Actually, they say the past tense version... as in, "NEver going back to the darkness I was ****ed in, never turnin back to the place that I was found in" I actually think that the past tense part is very significant in that song.

Here we go again. The same people defending POD because "they rock". I'm not going to get into this one this time, but I just want to quickly put my two cents in:

You keep saying that POD just isn't "pushing Christianity down people's throughts" but even if that's true, they are still christians (so I'm told) and they should be acting like it, especially with thousands of people watching them all the time. (I'm not saying that they can't slip, because we all do, but it sometimes doesn't seem like they give it too much of an effort)

And I really can't believe that so many of you are defending their actions. (and I'm not just talking about this one article)

There's my two cents...well i might have squeezed three in there.

Here we go again. I'm not going to get into this one, but I can't help but throw in my 2 cents. (sorry, I pretty much copied that )

How is P.O.D. not acting like Christians? How are bands like PAX217 and Pillar not acting like Christians (Don't yell at me, I think they are Christians; and acting like it)? Seems like "in-your-face lyrics" is so normal now, that "not-so-in-your-face lyrics" aren't Christian all of a sudden.

All of us who do believe that P.O.D. are Christians read the lyrics. On the top of my mind...."In the Scriptures I read it....", something about the Second Coming....All kinds of stuff.

Yeah--Jon (my bro) is right. That's exactly how I felt when I read this topic. Don't get me wrong--I love it when people come here with questions and comments about P.O.D. because we're the peeps at CGR that know the most about them...
Just want to leave you with some lyrics... be sure to visit the testimony thread here.
Three in the Power of One

Souls black as night
But it's nothing for the children of God to fight
We wrestle not with flesh and blood
But with the principalities fo darkness
So put on your Armor of God
For the day of battle will come
But the victory is already ours
Through Christ in the power of one

chorus
The Power of Christ
Surrounded by the Angels of God
Step to the realm where evil reins
We are soldiers prepared for war
With the power to speak His name
Satan with his legion of demons
Decieving with his wicked ways
With his life He has paid
With his word I will slay
Any demon that steps in my way
So bring it on
........
The hard rock and thrash with a little hip-hop
Four Christian borther's on a roll, there we go
Coming up hard but you know we got soul
I'm strapped yes, we're packed and it's about time
Jesus got my back, P.O.D.'s on the frontline

Three in the Power of One.
===

May God bless you.

See? Their lyrics are glorifying God....How can you actually deny it?

And do NOT say we're defending them because "they rock". That's dead wrong. I'm sure I could find many secular bands that rock, but they could also have swear words, and other junk that is plain wrong in their music. They rock! But I'm not EVER going to defend them.
