| It was certainly a strange day. I watched the Irish lose, and finally their depleted offense actually lost the game for them. Before yesterday, they had won by their stellar defense and just managing the game on offense. They had too many turnovers, and especially some turnovers inside their 30 yard line which made it really easy for the Eagles to score.

| It certainly looks like it'll be a Miami vs. Oklahoma national title game unless Miami hiccups against VaTech or Oklahoma just crumbles somehow...

Don't count out the Buckeyes. They may pass Miami in the BCS (per ESPN)......
it will be close. |

| From ESPN.com
"After four undefeated teams fell on Saturday, there is even more reason for the Sooners, Hurricanes and Buckeyes to be on their guard this weekend. All three teams play on the road, and you could make a case that this might be the most difficult remaining challenge for each of them.
Miami, which has looked vulnerable in its last three games, and Ohio State, which has seemed quite average away from home this season, both face an opponent that has much more talent than its record would indicate. If Tennessee finally plays a complete game (against UM), and Purdue stops beating itself with mistakes (against OSU), then we could conceivably be down to just one unbeaten team by Saturday night -- if Oklahoma can survive a trip to Aggieland, of course.
This series of events would make things extremely interesting when you consider that Texas is now a solid No. 4 in the BCS. That's right! If Miami and Ohio State both fall, and Oklahoma does not, we could be looking at a Texas-Oklahoma rematch in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl on Jan. 3.
It's possible that we could once again have a team in the national championship game that did not even win its own division of the Big 12. Texas just needs to win the rest of its games and pull against the Hurricanes and Buckeyes. Losses by those teams -- and perhaps a small bonus if Kansas State can run the table -- should be all the Longhorns need to rise from the ashes.
BCS Projection
1. Oklahoma
2. Miami
3. Ohio State
4. Texas
5. Washington State
6. Georgia
7. Notre Dame
8. Iowa
9. Virginia Tech
10. Southern California"

| I would agree with that assessment of the Ohio State game versus Purdue. Sure they may have lost 5 games already, but if a few things had gone their way in a few games they could be as good as 7-2 right now. Beyond that, they have had an extra week to prepare for Ohio State since they didn't play anyone last Sat. Joe Tiller is a heck of a coach. I think this will be a tough game. |

| Wow, Ohio St. #2 in the new BCS poll, behind Oklahoma and in front of Miami. I took a good look at the new rankings, and they can take the C out of BCS and you have a pretty good idea of what this thing is.
In one of the computers, USC?!?!?, with TWO losses was ranked ahead of Miami at #3 and in another Notre Dame was at #3 ahead of Miami.
Some of that will shake itself out down the road, but it's still a horrible system.
Congrats to Guy for God on your Buckeyes being in the top two (for the time being), but no offense, I don't think they will stay there.

| I think Texas University is ranked a bit high. They always seem to fall apart in big games. The top 3 are certainly well-deserved though. Hopefully at least one of them will lose before the championship game, though, to avoid problems and people getting really upset. I'm hoping Miami will be the one personally because Ohio State beat Texas Tech and Oklahoma will soon. lol Plus I would like a Big 12 representatve in the game, and I prefer Ohio State to Miami. |

Example: Assuming Miami and OSU both win this weekend, fans of both teams will tune in to see how the UConn vs. Kent State game turns out. Both teams are 3-6, with UConn losing to Miami and Kent losing to OSU. Sadly, the outcome of this game could keep Ohio State in second, or movie Miami up to number two.
Sound confusing and stupid? well it is!

| crazy, but also a great day in college football . . . I got the privilege of attending my first ever college football game today as I got to go see the TCU Horned Frogs take on the Tulane Green Wave. I cannot tell you how much more fun a college game is than a pro game. Now, I have to say that Texas is a HUGE High School football state and those games are definitely fun, but the college game is like Two high school games on steriods. Man, TCU's defense is phenomenal and a guy named Lonta Hobbs is gonna be the next LaDanian Tomlinson. First and only freshman so far in TCU history to have 3 100 yard games his first year.
Plus, you've got every player on the field playing for pride and for the love of football knowing that about 95% of the guys on the field will never play again after college, so they play with their hearts, and every fan in the stands is there to watch the game, not like when you go to a pro game and see all the business execs on their cell phones on the front rows makin' business deals and couldn't tell you which team even has the ball. But, I'm ramblin' now. I'm now HOOKED on going to college games. I'm gonna try and go to TCU's finale.
Hook 'em Horns and GO FROGS!!!!!!
