This is Vancouver's year...

Did anyone else see the Canucks in action against the Flames in the season opener? They walked all over them. Cloutier's coming into his own as a goalie, Naslund's at the top of his game, Fedorov is a brilliant up-and-comer, Bertuzzi's got the heft in front of the net, and Morrison is finally living up to expectations. I figure this is Vancouver's year to go straight to the finals. Vancouver hasn't been this good since 1994...

Ok, I'm about to become a laughing stock on the Sports forum, but...

I love the Canucks!! I haven't really kept up with hockey the past year or two like I used to (darn Red Wings ), but I would be the happiest guy within a good 1000 mile radius if the Canucks could actually win the Cup. I'm sure it won't happen in my lifetime, but it'd be sweet.

Call me stupid (ok, don't), but I've been a fan since I was a little kid, same story with my Chicago Cubs fascination. I actually remember them getting swept in 94, I haven't liked the Rangers since . I even have an official Vancouver jersey with the old black, yellow and red. Anyhow, now I'm off to ESPN.com to catch up on hockey... your optimism has made my night.
