My dilemma (buying soon!)

So, I've got $1000 saved up... and in December, me and 4 friends are taking a little trip down to Guitar Center in Hollywood. (ooooh yes!) I get happy just thinking about it. But, here is my problem. Originally, I was planning on just buying a Taylor.... because I need a new acoustic and I think I heard you can get the 314 for just under $1000.... but... I was thinking, cause I have a POD. I'm trying to decide whether to invest in the POD and get the floor-board. It makes shows a lot easier and also has a volume pedal and a wah pedal, and separate buttons for tuner and manual and you can change the channels and banks all from the board. But... I was also thinking that maybe I should make the switch and start investing in single effects. There's a lot less hassle with the POD, but single effects are nice. I'd just have to learn how to use 'em right, because I switch effects a lot in my songs. I think the POD works better for my style... but it'd be nice to get the Rat that I wanted... and some other stuff.

So, the final question...
-Spend $1000 and get a Taylor?
-Spend $700-750 for cheaper acoustic and $250 on POD floorboard?
-Spend $700-750 for cheaper acoustic and $250 on single effects?

That's it. Help me decide. I'll even make a poll.

Josh

oooh 1000bucks. You are sooo lucky. I've been saving for a couple of weeks to get a halfstack (since i don't guess it would be a good idea to build one -- hardware forum) and so far i have 0 bucks. Yep you heard right 0 bucks. lol no job, no income and no money so basically i'm selling all of my stuff to afford one which i woudl need about 700 bucks or 750.

OH and to answer your question. Is there anyway you could save an additional 250 by december? I mean it is a few months away and you could get a taylor and a pod floorboard.

If not I would suggest the cheaper acoustic and the pod floorboard being you said it would help your shows out a lot and you would probably rather it in the longrun. YOu can get great acoustics for 750 bucks. But still if you could save more man......that would rock.

I am biased because I have both a Taylor 810 and the POD floorboard. Get the Taylor and save for the Floorboard. You can get that mailorder.....they are all the same.

You are right, the floorboard is a great help for live. However, a Taylor....now we are talking.

If you are going to go to single-effects(wise choice) then why do you need a POD? Sel it and get single effects.

You could get your taylor, sell you POD and use that money to get some single effects!

But if you don't want to do that, I'd say look at a high-end Takamine. They are REALLY nice, and you could probably get one for 750 and get your board or effects.

the POD alone is $250 US
the floorboard is another $250 US

if you decide to get both you'll only have $500 for the guitar

Also, ther'es a new PODXT that just came out
it has a lot more effects on it and looks a bit sleeker

it also has a USB connection where you can use the POD as an ADA converter and send digital audio into the comptuer without a sound card

Hmmmmm......

Maybe you could find one used, but i wouldn't buy an accoustic off of ebay.

But I don't think you could get much for that price.
