PROVE IT BEFORE MAKING ANY MORE CLAIMS as I asked you to do!

please do not discuss Catholicism here, I have already asked this once. Catholics are considered part of Chrsitianity at large by the majority of protestant believers. Therefore, if Tolkein was a Catholic, he was a Christian. If you want to talk about whether Catholics are truly Christian do it in another thread.
Hey brian, hate to break it to ya but I think that wherever there is discussion about whether or not Tolkien (catholic) was a christian, it will invetibly turn into a Catholics christian or not thread. It's just the way it is. Remove that and there's no debate

why would what the pope said or didn't say have anything to do with an individual's Christianity? there are some presybterian (i think, if it was a different denomination, i'm sorry) leaders who say gay marriages are ok, which is an antibiblical belief, does that make all presbyterians not Christians? not only the fact that tolkien claimed to be a Christian, but that he also led cs lewis, (and who knows, maybe even more people) to Christ, then i think it is pretty obvious that he is a Christian, regardless of anything the pope says or doesn't say.
