| This is very strange. I was in the process of recommended Sigur Ros to my friend when I decided to look at the Secular forum...and what do I see? A Sigur Ros thread. I like them very much. The music is just gorgeous. The lack of lyrics is actually great. I love this band.

| Sigur Ros I've only heard Staralur and The Nothing Song. Do they ever build up to epic heights? Or do they just meander in and out of strange sounds and moaned Icelandic?
It's very good stuff, nonetheless, but I'm curious as to whether or not they ever get a tad heavier. And no, I don't mean bashing on power chords, but just... thicker.... meatier..... jucier.......

| ummm, if you're looking for epic heights.....try:
"the pop song" which may also be titled "track 8"
"Ny Batteri"
"Hjartad Hamast"
"Olsen Olsen"
you have to wait awhile to get to the "meaty" parts...but they're there.

| From what I've heard they are awesome. And the two songs I heard ("Svefn G Englar" and "Staralur" were incredible. But if you are looking for them to get heavy or something it's probably not going to happen... |

| actually, in "the pop song" they really do get quite heavy...at least if you get the studio version. i haven't heard the live one. its a 12 minute song...and starts getting heavy at around 6 minutes are so...anyways, check out that song, and tell me if you define that as 'heavy' at all. |

| Sigur Ros. Mmmmm.
The new album, ( ), is incredible. None of the tracks are titled though, amusingly, so I can't recommend any, and they blend into each other, so I'm not entirely sure of what to recommend.
Get the whole thing, lol. |

And thanks for the suggestions, ya'll. I'll dowload them tonight when I go to bed.

| I love Sigur Ros. I've heard the new album and it's absolutely wonderful. I've heard about half of the old album and I loved every song, but I cannot remember the names for any of them. I first heard of them over a year ago and it's not easy to find their stuff on WinMX. Anyway...they had a song that actually got kinda popular in the States. They played it on Reverb and CSI even featured it in an episode. It's an incredible song, but I don't know the name of it. If anyone has any clue which one I'm talking about...help!
