| just saw signs *****SPOILER WARNING******
i really liked it a lot. I'm a huge Shymalan fan, all his movies are great. I was REALLY disappointed by the ending though. we never know why the aliens left, or what the heck they came for. they just came, screwed up some corn, caused a ruckus, and left. I still enjoyed it. not a gory movie at all, but definatly a nail-biter. I love how the absense of music is some intense scenes actually helps build the suspense. It just made it that much more real. anyways, anyone else who seen it have any thoughts?

| I saw it and thought it was good as well, but for very different reasons. Most the people I went with that were expecting to be scared and on the edge of their seat, were dissappointed. The core of the movie isn't about crop-circles or aliens or anything of the sort. It's about faith, perspective and understanding what's important. Sure, the crop-circle thing is good for some suspense and couple good jumps, but I think it's really just a cover for the rest of the story.
The thing I enjoyed most about the movie was the humor though. I laughed a lot, but I'm not sure everyone will. A lot of the humor is very suttle and dry. I totally wasn't expecting to laugh that much going in though, so it was a nice surprise.
Overall, it was a good movie, but I think it's best if you go into it without any expectations at all. |

| i agree with you about the humor, it was a pretty funny movie. i was expecting a little more, but you're right about the crop signs and all that being a cover up for the real story. i love how shyamalan does that.

| I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. I thought it was very well written and was filmed awesome! I laughed a lot, too. And, I really enjoyed how *spoiler* Graham ended up turning back to the faith again. It was a great movie and I HIGHLY recommend it!

I also wasn't expecting any of the humor, me and my friends were laughing alot, though yeah not alot of other people did.

| I want to see Signs so bad. I want to see it so much that I didn't even read the spoilers like I usually do. I'm being tempted to though.

| I went into the theater not expecting a lot. I walked out of the theater blown away. If a better movie than this is released this year, I'll be very surprised. Technically and directorally (is that a word?) this movie is a masterpiece. The camera shots and script were phenomonal; although I don't care much for Shyamalan's comic relief. I only laughed a couple of times. Also, the way Shyamalan built mood was incredible and original. *spoiler* The ending was fine seeing how the aliens weren't the point of the movie. Gibson's character turned back to his faith and that was what mattered. I'm now convinced that M. Night Shyamalan is the best young director, if not the best director going right now. If he could brush up on his comedy, his stuff would be near flawless. I can't wait for his next film! |
