I'm appalled!
This was most definately the best movie of 2002 for me, although I don't see too many movies, and haven't even seen LOTR:TTT yet. But my parents are also very strict about what movies we watch... I checked out a Christian review of Punch-Drunk Love, and considering the fact that I'm 16, that's probably not the type of movie that I'd want to be watching. Can someone give me a basic outline of Adaptation, and its appropriateness for relatively young viewers (namely, me)? |

It is up to par or moreso with PDL on content. |

| Well, I finally saw this freaking movie (I know, I live in the stone age, northern washington in other words). And I'll have to agree with pretty much everyone and say it was brilliant. The acting was virtually seamless (I was especially impressed with Jouaquin Phoenix), the cinematography was amazingly good, the score was evoking, the plot was interesting and gripping without being cliched, altogether a great movie. I enjoyed it greatly. |

| Theres a really long thread about that movie already. Most people, myself included, loved it and thought it was one of the best of 2002. |

| It's like Opeth or GY!BE. It's truly great stuff, but it's not going to grab you by the neck and shove itself down your throat. It creeps up on you.
By the way, I saw it twice and it was better the second time. It really moved me. Great, great movie.

| I absolutely loved it. The slow pace built the suspense... Shyamalan is a master of suspense, IMO.
Anyhow, I'll merge the threads, no harm |

| Signs was one of the best movies ever made! It was extremely well-written and made. Funny, suspenceful, and tons of other great things about it. I liked Jhoquin Phoenix alot, I don't think it would have been as good without him. Funny thing is I didn't really like him before. What I didn't like about the movie was that the aliens were so traditional/sterotypical... but thats usually what the director/writer (frgot name) does is traditional stuff Alfred Hitchcocky stuff... Not a bad thing. I just like unconventional aliens.
My favorite lines: "Vamanos children!", "Dr. Bimbu? Dad! You had a tone!", "I'm a miracle man I could ok been kissing her when she threw up."
