I'm not a big fan of Bonds either but he does his job...very well I might add.
AAAh the word of God says you need to act better---but yes a player you can make it w/o being a Christian.

He does wear a cross ear ring---wonder what that means??

But the point was he is not liked which is sad and to me very important

Bonds may not be Mr. Popular, but in game one of the NLCS, you saw how he feels about his team... he was out there as quick as possible, and ready to take on any red clad man who dared to upset him.

Anyhow... look at Babe Ruth... Teddy Ballgame... Rogers Hornsby... MOST superstars are jerks. And I don't even think that Bonds is that much of a jerk, except with the media.

I once saw the man steal second base on a pickoff move to first... I mean, the stuff he does... WOW. We, as baseball fans, should feel privilaged to see this guy play, the same way older generations were privilaged to watch Mays, Gehrig, Nolan Ryan and the like.

Well... I can't really say that. I can say that it is possible... but baseball has changed so much. Winning (or losing) 20 games in a year didn't used to be a rarity for a pitcher... now it almost never happens...

But it is obvious that he is the best hitter in my lifetime. And 7 gold gloves to go with it.

And it's looking more and more likely that we'll have a wildcard world series, unless the Card's can pull off a miracle.

Yeah, it would be a real pitty to see the best player on Earth win a world series

I hate the Cards. (because they are playing the Giants)

Benito is the feel good story of the playoffs

Art, I hope you truly don't think of Barry Bonds as the best player on Earth!:kshock:

Name one other thing even worth mentioning about his game beside his homer hitting. His defense? Please! His base running (when he doesn't pop-out)? I don't think so!! His leadership? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!

If you want to see the best still-active player, just look between 2nd and 3rd base at the Ballpark at Arlington. Agreed, I'm no Rangers fan, but even I have to admit that he is without a doubt the most well-rounded player out there. And how old is he, oh yeah 27!
