If you're well read, you probably know how the story goes.

That wolf can look so good especially dressed

make you feel like you're paralyzed.

Just when you should be looking straight to the skies.

Pleading help from his lies, all of the devil's wicked lies.

I absolutly love this song. It means more to me then any of Keiths songs. and that's saying something!!

The song speaks of how saten tryes to decieve us. These lies can come in so may forms! "it's ok to disobey your parents, they would have let you if they understude" or "God doesn't really want someone like you" or "you miss played that note, you're a teirible musician" perhaps "Look at how many people excepted Christ! it's cause your such a great preacher".

Now, the song narrows down, and only addresses one aspect of satens lies. The lies that come about through doubt.

But even now my doubts will open up for me a world that I just despise.

Now, when do you supose saten loves to torcher you the most? in the middle of a worship service? perhaps when your praying? Oh yes, he'll try then to on ocation. But saten is a coward! he'll hit you when your at your weakest! I don't know about you, but my weakest times are at night.

Helpless cries. What a discription!! And its so true, if you let saten have a split second of your attention, then you WILL feel completly helpless.

It's natural to be a little nervous when doing as God has commanded you. saten loves to expond your nervousness to a point were you can't do what God's called you too! Your so draged down from his lies that you can't remember that it was Christ who called you, and Christ who will do the work.

The last paragraph in the song just ties it all in for me. Has saten ever tried to tell you something, and clame it was from God? What do you think you'd do if you believed him? You sertenly wouldn't be looking to God to save you from it!

And it's true. If saten tell you that God said your ministry is hopless and that your doing more bad then good, if you excepted this, were would your faith be? Well, it sertenly wouldn't be in the power of Christ to change the situation now would it?

Though I used different examples, I can vouch all of this with my personal experiance. I've come face to face with satens lies, and I've struggled because I excepted them. his lies are dangerous. Don't let him paralize YOU from going deeper with God.

I don't remember ever reading the lyrics to Lies. It opens up the song alot more for me. I can relate to the song as well. It is so freeing when the Lord gives me discernment to recognize Satan's attacks, so that no matter what I'm feeling I can hold on to truth, resisting the devil and he will flee.
