Suggestions?

I was thinking about this over dinner tonight. My drawings don't communicate much--not even to me. I draw because it's fun and I enjoy it, but basically my drawings are pictures of people or buildings that I see. I'm a fairly decent artist, but I feel like most of my pictures are pretty emotion-less. I would post a couple of pictures, but I don't have a scanner (you'll have to take my word for it). So, does anyone know how I could work on making my stuff SAY things?

My advice would be to find a time when you're emotionally charged over something; then get to drawing and try your best to translate what you're feeling out onto paper. Might take a while to develop that, but it should start improving.

Yeah, that and practice drawing emotions on peoples' and animal's faces. Like, if you're sad or something, draw someone crying... or.. something. That didn't come out right... sorta.

Yeah, that's about right...

Another thing to try is before you start to draw, really think about what you're trying to convey with your artwork. What do you want to make the person think/feel? What would make you think/feel that way?
