(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) September 6, 2002-Dove Award-winning singer/songwriter Sarah Sadler is poised for a successful debut launch, as provided by premier billing on labelmate Bebo Norman's "Fall Circa 2002" tour, kicking off this week, an enthusiastic response from radio and media outlets as well as favorable positioning at Christian retail.
Guaranteed to maximize the 19-year-old talent's exposure to a national audience, the "Fall Circa 2002" tour is slated to hit 42 markets including Atlanta, Dallas, Nashville, Chicago and Seattle. Joined by additional guest artists David Crowder Band, on the first half of the tour, and Ten Shekel Shirt, on the remaining tour dates, Sadler will play all 42 dates. The tour debuts in Ohio September 8 and wraps up in the Northwest in mid-December. Music from Sadler's upcoming project also made its way onto Third Day's "Come Together" tour last spring, with more than 10,000 samplers distributed at venues nationwide.
While fans pour into colleges, universities and civic centers to hear Sadler perform live, music from her self-titled project will be infiltrating airwaves via radio play on Christian stations across the country. "Beautiful," the first single from Sarah Sadler is currently at No. 16 on Radio & Records' Christian Hits Radio chart after three weeks out. The song also debuted on Adult Contemporary radio this week, charting in the Top 30, a promising start for a new artist. Print and television media have proven equally responsive to Sadler's entrance onto the Christian music scene. She recently taped an episode of FamilyNet's new Christian reality television series, TruthQuest: California, scheduled to air this fall. Sadler will also appear as CCM Magazine's "One To Watch" in November.
On the retail front, Essential Records plans to secure catalog advertising in fall pieces for all major chains and regional stores, while Sarah Sadler will be a main focus of Provident Viewscan and In-Store Play Loops beginning in August. Additionally, the title will be featured on Provident Music Distribution's "Above The Groove" promotion alongside other popular Provident Music Group artists beginning in August and running through December. Merchandising opportunities include a joint endcap kit with Bebo Norman, consisting of headers, flats and shelftalkers. As Family Christian Stores' "New Music Now" artist in October, Sadler's self-titled debut will receive special pricing, premium endcap placement in Family's more than 330 stores nationwide, inclusion in the chain's October catalogs and on FamilyChristian.com. Sadler is also involved in the "Give Bebo (and Sarah) To A Friend" campaign with Family Christian Stores, during which 10,000 sampler CDs will be given away free with the purchase of Norman's Myself When I Am Real or Sarah Sadler.
Not completely unknown to Christian music listeners, Sadler most recently contributed her voice to three popular compilation projects: the Dove Award-winning The Prayer of Jabez: Music... A Worship Experience; Your Love Broke Through: The Worship Songs of Keith Green and Essential Records' April 23 release Our God Of Wonders. Sadler wrote her first song, "I Will Pray," at age 9, and two years later it was chosen to be included on an Integrity Music children's record.
