Locked into a corner, up against the wall,
I know you've been stumbling, trying not to fall.
I can feel your sorrow, and I can share your pain
I can hear the questions exploding in your brain.
Walking in the shadows, feeling all alone;
Looking for the answers, rolling every stone.
'Tis a run in silence, and laughing nearly came
Though my eyes can't see you, I know we're much the same.

That song is fairly easy. As far as www.pianotabs.com , the last time I checked their site, it was WAY off. They must have fixed it since then. The best way for me to learn her songs is to watch her on her videos. They show enough piano footage for any experienced player to figure it out.

Not to offend anyone, just an interesting story...

I don't really like this song, and once had it stuck in my head and couldn't get it out. A friend of mine directed me to "The Proclaimers" and their song "500 Miles". Solved it like a charm

I think it's a pretty easy song, and it's very pretty.

I've never even looked at any music or tab for it, and I played it pretty much perfectly the other day.

This is really not going to help, but i did find the first page of the sheet music on the net for free. I saved it in my favourites, but since then i have formatted my computer and thus it is gone, but there is a site out there somewhere

I totally agree. I have tried to play the song over and over again. The music is simple, but the fingering is hard. I haven't checked it out yet, but I heard about a site called www.pianotabs.com. So if you wanted check it out, go for it! Well i have to go but ya'll have a great day!

I don't know if this will help anybody, but I thought I would explain a little bit about the music... hopefully it will make it easier for y'all to play it correctly.

The rhythm of the song (or at least the main piano riff part of it) is in 4/4, but does not follow a normal 2-division- or 4-subdivision-per-beat pulse. In other words, it is sort of difficult to count the rhythmic pulsing of the riff with your typical "one ta te ta, two ta te ta, etc" rhythmic count. The main riff is all sixteenth notes, but the basic pulse shifts a little bit during each measure. If you listen carefully, you'll hear four sets of rhythmic pulses that include three notes per pulse, followed by two sets of rhythmic pulses that include two notes per pulse (you could also think of it as one set of pulses with four notes per pulse). So, if you wanted to count the song rhythmically, you might think something like "1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 1, 2".. each count being a sixteenth note. You'll notice that there are still a total of sixteen notes in that measure... they just don't come in sets of four.

If you think of the song this way, I think you will find it a lot easier to play. The notes for the main riff (if I can remember them correctly) are as follows: B, b (lowercase indicating down one octave), B, A#, b, A#, F#, b, F#, E, b, E, D#, E, D#, C#.

Check it out: if you divide the rhythmic pulses up as I explained earlier, you'll see that each three-note-per-pulse set is simply a repeated note with a low b stuck in between. So, if you can think of four sets of these repeated notes, and kind of rock your hand back and forth a little as you play, it should come out quite nicely.

The motion for each set of three notes goes something like this: Drop your hand on the first note, rotate your forearm/wrist to the left to hit the second note (the low b), rotate back to the right to hit the third note, then release a little and drop again into the next set of three. So, for the first twelve notes, it might look like this (drops shown by bold text, rotation shown by { or }): B, {b, }B, A#, {b, }A#, F#, {b, }F#, E, {b, }E.

Now, for the final four notes, you can just hit all of them in one swift motion. I think the fingering I use is 3-4-3-2. Make sure you drop into the first note, and just let the last three kind of flow together.

I hope this has made sense, and I hope it helps somebody. Let me know what you think, and please don't hesitate to ask questions if anything was confusing to you.

In His love,
Nate
