I actually kinda like this song. My only problem with it is that when I went to Boston last summer, this was the only song they would play on the plane radio. I listened to it (literally) 12 times. Then to make things worse, after the in-flight movie was over, they played the music video twice. So this song and I have quite a history together. Anyway, I found the printable sheet music for this at www.sunhawk.com. It's 4.95, and I haven't bought it, so I don't know if it sounds right or not. It should, though, if any of ya'll really wanna play it.

I love playing this song. I got it from Pied Piper--the individual sheet music. You could probably also get it at any record store or off www.sheetmusicplus.com for about 5 bucks. I think it's worth it. The key is nasty (B major), and the licks are kinda hard at first, but once you get it down, it plays so easily, and it's easy to sing along to, too.

Happy playing!

Of course, at Youth Group's Winter Retreat, the girls dorms are set up right under the meeting hall (i.e. right beneath the stage, some of the ceiling boards are the stage floorboards). And our worship leader, being evil called a practice really early. Guess what song we played to warm up? Guess what song the girls woke up to?

But really the signature riff's the hardest, once you got that, you can improv through the rest, since I'm sure that's what she does. So take heart! Buckle down! Play those Bs!

I say: why pay 5 bucks for the sheet music, when you could just figure it out yourself?

So i did. lol

I was surprised at how easy it was, i already had the notes figured out in my head, so it only took me appoximately 30 seconds to figure out how to play it.
It's alot easier than it sounds.

I found the verse and chorus parts just took a little practice to figure out, but the bridge was somewhat harder.

Quote:
The rhythm of the song (or at least the main piano riff part of it) is in 4/4, but does not follow a normal 2-division- or 4-subdivision-per-beat pulse. In other words, it is sort of difficult to count the rhythmic pulsing of the riff with your typical "one ta te ta, two ta te ta, etc" rhythmic count.
I found it easier to play the main (opening) piano riff just by listening to the recorded version a number of times until it was clear in my head. Then once I figured the pitch of the notes the rhythm came easily without needing to consciously count anything out.

I've been wanting to learn the song before that one on her CD.

Thanks,

N.™

I would figure it out, but my piano is way out of tune, so it would be wrong.
