| Musicals..... Does anyone love to watch musicals? I do think they can be the safest entertainment around! Some of my favs are: Sound of Music, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, White Christmas, Singin in the Rain, Hello Dolly (!!), On the Town, Born to Dance, and many others....:-)
One question: Has anyone seen a movie called "Wives & Daughters"?? I've heard some good stuff on it, but don't know where I can find it....

| I have never heard of Wives and Daughters, but I do love musicals. My favorites are The Sound of Music, Oklahoma, The Fiddler on the Roof, and The King and I.

| Definitely Oklahoma and The Sound of Music. And my high school's doing Fiddler on the Roof this year, which I haven't seen. So I'm excited.
Edit: P.S. And thank you, Goodness, for spelling "y'all" correctly. (Have you visited the "All yall texans" thread?)

| ummmmm.........*trying to remember*
It's mainly about two women. One is poor but pretty and the other one rich and pretty. Ack! But I can't remember the plot. Something revolving around them liking the same guy I think. Or something.
Do you get those catalogs for British movies?? Or any movies? It's usually in there. |

Huh? There is another way to spell "y'all"? You Southerners have such a diverse, evolving culture.
| NO, there is indeed NOT another way to spell it, despite popular belief that it is spelled, "ya'll." :scoffs: "Ya'll!" Think about it! The purpose of saying "y'all" is to combine "you" and "all." "Ya'll" would be saying "ya all." ARGH!
Sorry, pet peeve. Quote: |

So really, "What is the air speed velocity of an unlaiden swallow?"
It's quite simple:
Drag on a body in a fluid is:
D = 1/2 (Cd*pi*r^2*rho*Vo^2) Cd = coefficient of drag of the swallow pi = 3.1415... r = radius of bird cross-section (approximating as a circle) rho = viscosity of air Vo = velocity For steady state flight, D (drag) = T (thrust), so:
------------------------------
| Vo = sqrt(T/Cd*pi*r^2*rho) |
