(NASHVILLE, TN) August 26, 2002—The Elms recently completed a string of tour dates with legendary guitarist Peter Frampton. Performing for as many as 3,500 fans a night, The Elms showcased music from their new album Truth, Soul, Rock & Roll to be released on October 22nd.
In addition to their tour with Frampton, The Elms will be hitting the road this fall with Jars of Clay for the “eleventhhourtour”. “Going out with Jars will be a great way to spend the fall,” shared Owen Thomas, lead singer of The Elms. “We love how they’ve made their music the priority, and have written so many songs that cause people to consider truth as a way of life. It’s going to be a great time.”
Being hailed as “one of the best bands to come along in Christian music,” by ChristianityToday.com, The Elms have received credible praise for their distinct sound and thought-provoking lyrics. Following the widespread critical acclaim of The Big Surprise, The Elms garnered two nominations for the 2002 Gospel Music Association Dove Awards. The album was nominated for Modern Rock/Alternative Album of the Year, and the single “Hey, Hey” received a nod for Modern Rock/Alternative Song of the Year. “Hey, Hey” was also the band’s first music video and has received consistent airplay on MTV2’s “120 Minutes.”
