a little confusion here....C2 does not mean Csus2....they are two slightly different chords. C2 is the same as Cadd2 which is 1 2 3 5 of the cmajor scale (C D E G) in which youve added the 2. with a suspended chord we actually change one note to another. in the case of Csus2 we change the 3 into a 2 (E into D), which results in the chord spelled out 1 2 5 or (C D G). so the notation sus means to suspend a note into another, or change it, and the other notation C2 or add2 means to actually add the new note to the mix. |
