| I liked the musical content and the messages in some of their songs that they portray and some of the songs I would say are good for praise and worship or whatever you want to call it. |

| hey guys. i've been at the hospital almost constantly for the last several days and i haven't had much sleep, so forgive me for this poor piece of writing. i'm going to start at the beginning. my grandpa was diagnosed with cancer in late july/early august of last year. on september 11th, of 2002, they had surgery to try and remove the cancer, then he had to go through lots of chemo and radiation. they couldn't know if they had gotten all of the cancer until after the chemo and radiation. when he was finished with that, they checked to see if he still had cancer. well, he did. he was still pretty sick from the first chemo treatments, so they waited a few more weeks before they started his next treatments. they lived in charlotte, and they came down to our house to visit for Christmas. they were planning on staying for two weeks, then going home to finish his chemo and pack up their stuff so they could move here to retire. it didn't work out that way. when he got here, he was so sick that he couldn't even get out of bed. mom got really worried about him and they took him to the hospital. he was in the hospital for 29 days, including Christmas and new years, then on the day he got released from the hospital, they started his next chemo and radiation treatments. meanwhile, my "adopted brother", jp, (really, he's my grandpa's son and my mom's stepbrother) was making frequent trips back and forth to visit grandpa. well, grandpa was at home for a while, going back and forth to the hospital and doctor's offices about 30 minutes away. jp decided to move here. so he's been living at grandma and grandpa's house next door for about two weeks now. we've been hanging out at grandma's house, playing games til midnight and just having a good time. and he would take us to the mall and movies and stuff. he was just really great to hangout with. (he's 26, but he acts like he's 18.) he was even teaching us how to play drums. well, back to grandpa... last week, when he went to the doctor's, they said that he needed to be moved back to the hospital for a little while because his white blood cells were down. so we moved him back to the hospital. grandma and jp had been taking turns going up there and staying for the day. normally, grandma would go from about 8am until 5pm, then jp would go from 5pm til 9pm or 10pm. well, last thursday, jp invited me to go to the hospital with him and hangout there. so we went. we were getting ready to leave at about 9:30 and jp asked the nurse if she could give us his vitals and oxygen levels before we left. she did. he wasn't doing very well, so we called mom and grandma and they came to the hospital. they had to move him into the coronary care unit. they weren't sure how serious he was, so mom called our pastor, and he came to the hospital. and we stayed up all night long, sitting in the lobby of the ccu. the next couple of days were pretty much a blur. jp and i get along really well, and we understand each other, so i was pretty much assigned with the task of keeping him comforted. i left only once and that was just to spend one night at home and change clothes and stuff. from thursday til tonight, i think i've gotten about a 14 hour compilation of sleep. and grandma and jp have gotten even less. well, most of grandpa's family is in illinois, so we flew his brother and sister-in-law out on an emergency flight. they got there late friday night or early saturday morning. well, we all pretty much hovered around his bed, taking turns walking to the snack room and cafeteria to get bits and pieces of food for each other. this morning, his breathing went down to about 70, 100 being the regular level, and his blood pressure was really, really low. he couldn't talk anymore, and we were trying to get him to write what he was trying to say down, but it got so mixed up because he was practically blind. everyone was so upset. i mean, he was only going to be 58 on february 17. well, then, tonight, his breathing went down to between 40 and 60, and he went into a coma. (this is really hard for me. i'm crying right now.) his blood pressure was so low that the machine couldn't even read it for a while. when it finally read it, it was 47/20. that is soooo incredibly low. his brother was still hoping that he would come out of it. mom made me go home with her at about 10. then, at about 11, they called mom and told her that he died.
we went to their house every single weekend in illinois. they moved over 900 miles just so they could be close to us. he used to take us out for icecream. and we would go fishing with him, but he always let the fish go, no matter how big it was.
and not only is grandpa gone, but now jp is leaving to move back to nashville too. so not only did i lose my grandpa, but i lost my brother and close friend. i hardly ever cry but i was literally weeping the whole way home from the hospital tonight because jp is going to be moving back.
we are all going to be going to illinois for his funeral probably on tuesday. that's about a 20 hour drive. so please pray for me and my family and my grandpa's family. his dad is 89 years old and just lost his wife. he couldn't come all the way out to north carolina because the trip would have been too hard for him. so be praying for all of us, ok? thank you soooo much.
lots of love, morgan

| um, hi. i haven't updated in a while, cos NO ONE POSTS HERE! it's a dead blog, i say, a dead blog. but if you insist on pointing fingers, i suppose that it's my fault. i've stumbled upon an uncreative phase. well, that's what happens when you live in the middle of nowhere and you're HOMESCHOOLED and you can't legally drive by yourself yet because you have to wait FOREVER to get your license. i'm a sad, sad little girl. but i've got SUGAR and a shift key so i can make BIG WORDS. weehah. ok, i'm bored. i've stayed up all night for so many nights that i've permanently injured my sleep patterns. oh, and i'll be 16 in *gasp* a little more than 8 days! oh yeah, and i won a 50 $ gift certificate to my area mall from the dentists... yup. you really saw that one coming. oh, and i have 3 new distantly related cousins. they're 5, 11, and 13 and very sweet kids. well, i just wanted to update so you guys knew i wasn't dead... yet. if anyone reads this, i'll be suprised. if anyone reads this and replies, i'll be shocked. ha. catch ya on the flip side.
